My loopy case works with this stand so I’m pretty sure a pop socket would work as well.

Will this work for an iPhone mini?

I do not know the dimensions of an iPhone mini but I can tell you my experience is that the holder, being metal, causes the phone to slip, not stand up straight. I use it but my phone sits crooked in it. It would be nice if they had installed some rubber stoppers or something to actually secure the phone.

Would this hold a Kindle?

Depending on the size / weight it might hold a Kindle. I wouldn't use it for my 10 inch android tablet.
