I know it says it fits cats up to 20lba but mine does not like squishing through small spaces. She is 16lbs (chunky). Will she fit comfortably?

No. They could technically fit but defined not comfortable. I have a 17 pound black cat that cannot fit through this. He's older and taller and this is to small for him.

How does the cat get in if door is closed? It says you can.only open from one side, if he gets in how does cat get out?

I will be using a jigsaw. Can you recommend the preferred size and fineness of the blade for a hollow door?

I just used a standard length blade with 12 tpi ,but chip out doesn’t really matter as the frame covers about 3/4 of a inch
