Does it really promote hair growth?

The grown ladies in my family have very, VERY thin hair. I cut/trim my mom's hair about 2-3x a year and about a year ago I could see through her hair. But while she is consistently taking biotin (10,000) her hair thickness about doubles, which is saying a lot for us gals at least. ;) She is in her early 50s.Hope this is helpful.

Well, the components, as described on the bottle are: biotin, rice flour and gelatin. Not sure if rice flour qualifies as gluten.... and there is, yes, an insignia that shows it is gluten free!!!!
