I have to say that the fine nib on this is definitely different than the fine nib on my Pilot Metro. I initially thought that the fine on this was finer but in a side to side comparison the Pilot is the finer point. Not by much and the lines look roughly the same until you're looking at them right next to each other. As to the fill, it came with a Con40 style converter with a little ball inside (I assume to keep the ink agitated). I got it to fill almost all the way up so it holds a good charge of ink as well. I've written with it a lot over the weekend and I have to say it's a good writer. Haven't had any trouble with it. If I was looking for gripes I'd say the cap doesn't post as securely as I like but it hasn't fallen off yet. Overall, an excellent pen if you're looking to try a fountain pen without paying an arm and a leg.

I touched up the nib with a 12,000 grit stick upon receipt. It writes nicely (Western fine, shading toward extra fine), has nice heft and feel, and is a pretty good-looking pen (I'm partial to hooded and/or wraparound nibs -- my other pens are a Haolilai and a Jinhao). On the converter that came with it the piston wasn't attached to the screw shaft, so I couldn't see how it would work and was afraid to try it. Fortunately, I had an extra universal converter around that fit the pen, so I'm able to use it with no trouble. Good pen for the price.

was very impressed when pen arrived. was looking for a replacement for my X750 daily beater/ writer. didn't want to spend a lot of money but was hoping for something that didn't write poorly or felt cheap. this pen far exceeded my expectations. writes well and feels solid. would highly recommend.

The pen works OK. The nib is very stiff and feels cheap. The cap will not stay on when posted which is odd for a pen of this style. The hooded nib Jinhao models are much better in this price range.

Just got this today. Nicely balanced. Has Some heft to it, but writes very smoothly.

Cool pen that looks similar to the old Parker 51's (although it clearly isn't). Still, the one I received writes smoothly and is a pleasure to use. For the money, an excellent deal.

First, this is a scratchy nib. Second, the ink stops coming through the top and can't be fixed. This one is junk. Get the Pilot. It's great.
