I don't know what it's made of but it is a thin and rubbery elastic string that stretches and fits between my teeth better than regular floss and gets more grime off for me than gentle glide floss does. I have tight-fitting teeth and this stuff does not usually get stuck it can spread or fall apart at times but not as frequently as fiber and does not leave pieces of that shred fiber behind that I can feel for hours later trying to pick at it and get it out. That is so annoying. I decided to look up a bulk buy, and there are dispensers you can buy for this to put it in, mine is white and almost triangular in shape. The holder can get gunked up with wax so once in a while you will need to take it apart and wipe that off, then put it all back which is easy to do. This is normal. I had an issue with my first refill toward the end where it would get stuck when I was pulling some out and had to open it and fix it. Again not a big deal to me, I am frugal and rather buy bulk and save money doing so than buy small disposable packs and keep throwing them out which is not good for the environment. Some recycling places don't accept all plastics either. You can find the dispenser usually just below the pictures that says frequently bought together, it should show up so you don't have to spend a lot of time looking. You only have to buy that one time, and then refill as often as you need. One refill lasts me 10-12 months for personal use. If you share it and others use it daily the amount and frequency will vary. It is small enough to travel with, but I have a small pack for that handy. I don't travel often so this is not a big issue.

My dental hygentist uses this and raves about how effective it is. The office ordered me a spool and container and I won't use anything else now. It has "grabbers" on the thread so works so much better than the floss I used for years. One of these spools lasts at least a year, for me.

No shredding problems (unless you have a sharp edge filling or crown, or braces (this is from a dentist.).

I'm all about dental hygiene and this works perfectly. I have a dispenser designed for this and it last me quite at least a year flossing a couple times a day. It does a great job cleaning between my teeth and I feel confident going to see myd dentist that he isn't going to scold me about my flossing habits.

Product works as advertised. However, it is sold without a dispenser. Amazon sells a compatible dispense which works well. Nice being able to order this from Amazon as it is not always on the shelves in drug stores.

Probably the most effective floss I have used. I would give it 5 stars but it appears to be some type of plastic material. I will probably buy this item again. Unless you have a floss dispenser, it would be a good idea to buy one with this product.
