Be patient. Rodents are clever.
This is a great product for the "odd mouse" as when you catch them you can set them free. However most of the time we were surprised to find that the food was gone and no mouse. The clever little things had worked out a way to get the food and not get caught in the trap. I would say however that 20% of the time we did catch our mouse and it was lovely to be able to set them free in the woods with no harm done. However if you encounter a big infestation, I would use pellets instead. Sadly this will kill them. So its up to you. I would definitely try this product first. It is also reusable so you can wash and re - use for ever. Great size for small to medium size mice. No tails were caught up anywhere so I guess for bigger rodents you would need a bigger size cage than this to catch them.

Had high hopes
I had high hopes of being able to humanely trap the mice the cats bring in & then lose.4 times I've tried this now, using peanut butter exactly the same as I'd use for the other type of traps. In the past I had found the mice only went for peanut butter.I am yet to catch anything with these traps . They have a tendency to just go off on their own too which is annoying. Not really easy to clean, you need to run the hot tap through it.Don't know what it is about these traps but the mice clearly prefer being squashed by the old type of trap. They will take the bait from those. I hadn't wanted to kill them though.I will persevere with these as the 1st line of action.

Very humane - feeds the mice and lets them out
The media could not be loaded. We used this every night for 3 weeks before we sent it back for a full refund - thank you for that. The trap is very easy to set and the mice were very happy to enter it and walk to the back for some tasty midnight snacks. Chocolate works well as others here have said but they love jam too.The problem is that the mice are often too small and light to trigger the trap door, so after dinner they just walk right out again. It did work sometimes and the video attached shows how reluctant the little guy was to come out, he loved it in there. The video also shows, not well I'm afraid, how the mouse walks on the trigger without the door closing.

This works brilliantly
The media could not be loaded. This worked so well! I put nuts, grapes and brie in my traps, I caught the mouse on the second day! I was so pleased with these traps! It's a painless way to remove them and I'm honestly so happy with the buy! I bought this because my cat brought a live mouse into my home, I didn't want to hurt the poor thing buying the killer ones, it wasn't it's fault it was inside, I got alot of satisfaction from releasing him too, he looked relieved, he was probably very thirsty aswell as I noticed he's dug a hole in my plant and was eating at the roots. The trap is good because its a far enough distance away from the door that the mouse isn't hurt in the process, this one was very tiny too! A harmless way to solve a pest issue!! Thank you!

Very good
The media could not be loaded. I put a bit of peanut butter on cheese and caught the mouse. The trap was checked regularly so I found the mouse within 5 minutes of catching it. Its tail was caught on the door. I was able to open the door a tiny bit so it could free its tail. I took it to a field and let it go. I was really nervous about the process but my son wanted to do it the humane way. It actually wasn't that scary. The mouse was so small and sort of cute. The trap is really easy to use. It's good that you can see the mouse. Peace of mind of what's happening. Great product ...... ( I put the trap with mouse inside in a black plastic bag while I took it to the field. As it was getting dark I was wanted to release it asap. The mouse wasn't in a rush ) P.S mice become active while humans are still awake. If you want to protect its tail remove the trap before you go to bed then nothing is left struggling all night. I caught this one at 8pm

12 mice and 1 shrew caught & released, so far!
These traps are excellent IF you add weight (stones / coins) onto the pressure plate. We have baited the traps with peanuts, and so far caught 12 wood / field mice and 1 teeny tiny shrew. We don't want them in our garage or fruit and veg cage, but are happy to release them into the countryside to live their lives there!Buy the larger traps (see photos) so you don't trap any mice tails! Weigh down the pressure plate to the point of nearly tripping (we used 5 x 2pence pieces / equivalent weight in stones).Of course check the traps every morning, and be prepared to rinse out a lot of mouse / shrew poo after releasing the little ones!Edit: we have more teeny tiny (maybe pygmy?) shrews getting into the traps, triggering them to close, and eating the nuts, but somehow managing to escape! They are really tiny so we cannot blame the traps for not catching these escapologists. Now considering putting some mesh over the air slits at the bait end of the traps to prevent them escaping!

Perfect, did exactly what it was supposed to.
Got this for my nephew who found evidence of mice in his kitchen cupboard, I got them for him as he didn't want to use poison or snap traps, he baited them with a blob of peanut butter & the first night got this, which he took & released where it wouldn't be a problem to anyone else (hopefully) luckily it must have been a longer as no more were caught & no more evidence appeared. They are very easy to use & seem quite durable, but hopefully won't be needed again.

VERY EFFECTIVE!
We knew we had a mouse in the kitchen under the fridge, thank you cats, so bought these. Put some sunflower seeds in and a little bit of bedding and left it overnight. The picture tells the resulting story. Took Mortimer down the garden to where their nests are and released him. Now putting the rest of the seeds down the daily to feed them during the winter 😊
