Hi! Our mushroom powders are not extracted so we do not use any extraction methods. We grow our mushrooms here at our own facility and they are dehydrated and finely milled, we produce a full spectrum mushroom product. Our expert mycology team has combined experience of more than 100 years of growing mushrooms. Our organic functional mushrooms are grown through their full life cycle including myceliated biomass, primordial and/or fruit bodies in an ultra-clean environment at our indoor farm in Carlsbad, California. We then carefully dehydrate the mushrooms at low temperatures to retain nutritional activity. The result is a whole food mushroom with a full spectrum of naturally occurring nutrients, including beta glucans and other polysaccharides, polyphenols, prebiotic non-soluble fiber, and digestive enzymes that support immune function, plus vitamins, such as Vitamin D, minerals, and amino acids/proteins. In addition, there are many mushroom-specific compounds such as triterpenes (from Reishi and Turkey Tail), cordycepin (from cordyceps) and neurotrophic factors (from Lion’s Mane) all of which contribute to overall health and wellness. Our indoor farm is a cGMP (Certified Good Manufacturing Practices) facility that is Certified 100% Organic, Project Verified Non-GMO, Kosher and Gluten Free to ensure highest quality and efficacy.

Is this really sourced in the USA and is it from the fruit body?

Thank you for the question. We produce a full spectrum whole food mushroom product or as we like to say, root to fruit. We include the full life-cycle of the mushroom which includes the mycelium & fruiting bodies. All of our mushroom powders are the product of USA (California), Certified 100% Organic, Certified Non-GMO Compliant, Kosher Certified, Gluten-free, Allergen-free and Vegan.

It says it has a fractional amount of gluten I don't understand if the only thing that's in there is the lions mane mushroom? There should be no glute

We grow our mushrooms on Certified 100% Organic, Project Verified Non-GMO, gluten-free whole oats because they provide a uniquely nutritious and clean growing environment. While oats themselves are naturally gluten free, they are often contaminated with gluten do to nearby crops, during the cultivation process. We source our Oats from Canada from a farm that does not have any wheat, rye or anything else growing in the area that could contaminate the oats with gluten from winds blowing. The FDA states that Gluten Free must test at <20ppm for Gluten. Our Product consistently tests at <10ppm which is much lower than the requirement and therefore considered Gluten Free.

Is this autoclaved or steamed to break down the chitin and allow absorption?

Yes. During our production processes we disrupt the cell walls of the mushrooms by exposing them to steam heat prior to dehydrating and milling into a powder. The steam heat softens and disrupts the chitinous mushroom cell wall matrix. Milling into a fine powder further disrupts the cell walls and creates a lot of powder particle surface area for digestion and absorption.
