no, they are more of a wiffle ball, and there is a soft foam bat

Come loose. They have Velcro on them there should be multiple balls. If your child is little it may take a couple hit s for the ball to launch

Would this work for a 7 year old?

Potentially. This would really be more useful to a beginner and I also believe a 7 year old would be much taller and probably get leas long term use from it. Also, you can likely find something taller and more durable for a 7 year old.
