In short, yes. This will allow you to pair a smart phone with the transmitter. That then allows you to update your ESC with the newest telemetry upgrade. Once the telemetry programming has been added to the ESC, you can then read it on your phone, but you will need this part to do it.

スピード確認とLEDライトをiPhoneで操作したくてUDRで使用ふとESCのアップデートしたら車両側の電源落とせなくなった。バッテリーケーブルを引っこ抜いて強制終了…壊れるだろうな〜と思ってるうちに走らせる事も無くなってしまった。
