So much better than the pentair racer that came with our pool. That thing got stuck everywhere, and no adjustments could solve it.This one has lots of adjustments to help it turn instead of getting stuck. I put my swimsuit on and jumped in the pool with it. I would set it to the spot where the racer got stuck. Same problem with Polaris at first. But I adjusted the float and the jet, boom, it turns. There are a few times it still gets stuck somewhere, but the rescue valve opens every few minutes and drags it to another party of the pool. So it is never totally stuck.I recently added an Aiper Surfer S2 solar skimmer. They say that won't work with a pressure hose cleaner like the Polaris. But I got them to play nice. I removed 6 floats from the Polaris hose. So only a couple of floats holding it at the surface. It doesn't get tangled, and the skimmer can push right over the last couple of floats. Works great and the pool looks amazing. It stays so clean now. Skimmer gets most things that blow in, before they can sink. The Polaris gets anything that manages to sink.Very happy with the Polaris.

I had a old Pentair Kreepy Krauly Platinum that was aging and giving me constant issues, mostly with getting tangled in its own hose. So when looking for replacement I settled on the 280. Most review sites had it as the top no-frills pressure side cleaner so that affected my decision.Delivery was fast and installation was straight forward. Directions were clear on how to set up the length of the hose but that did require a couple of cuts and measurements. Just follow the instructions clearly as written and you'll have no problem.Coming from the Pentair, I like that the Polaris bag is zip closure. That seems more durable long term than the plastic clips that Pentair used. Likewise the bag clip to the leader hose is a plastic C that just snaps on instead of velcro on the Pentair that broke down quickly in pool water.I didn't have to make any adjustments, just used the quick connect to my existing booster pump threaded connector on the side wall of my pool. This cleaner seems to only need about 2 hours to get all areas of my pool. It doesn't climb up to higher steps, but thats to be expected and I don't think any cleaner would do differently in this price range.Very satisfied so far, no tangles on the cords in the first 3 weeks of running it.

The media could not be loaded. Arrived nicely packaged no issues all the things came with it for a simple plug n play. You remove the blue plug the twist lock if you already have one installed on your jet attach the bag to the hose and off you go.It seems to function properly as in it moves around the pool backs up if it gets stuck etc. The big problem though is that the tail end floats. I adjusted the floater checked for leaks and it spends a lot of time on the front wheel. Checked for air bubbles in the device itself also.I got this to replace a Polaris 380 which worked for many years flawlessly but I got tired of it not working after I replaced parts. I was going to get another 380 but the prices are ridiculous for what these things are. See my video. May have to play with it do some DIY adjustments. For the price I shouldn't have to. 1 star drop for the high price another for it not working the way it should. 😐Update: I'm bumping this up 1 star because it works and keeps my pool clean. 👍 Despite it floating a lot it somehow keeps my pool clean. 🤔 Things I did to make it not float as much; well I adjusted the tail swiper and turned it down as much as I could because it was spraying up and into the neighbors yard periodically. 😮 Then to keep the tail down I added another foam wiper. That seem to keep it down so as not to spray but it also weighed it down enough to where it doesn't whip around as much. Gotta continue finding the right balance. But at the end of the day I run this for 2 hrs and my pool is clean. Not as much in the baskets either. 👍 Occasionally the tail will get stuck in the wheels but I think my doubling up on the scrubbers may have fixed that issue too. Don't know 100% yet. 😁

This Polaris was recommended by my pool service guy. It is fabulous! Picks up all the dirt, even the smallest bits. Glad I purchased it!!

Don't waste your money with this pool vacuum. I followed the setup instructions and got the vacuum adjusted for my pool. Initially it worked well, but after a few weeks the hose gets a memory and spends most of the time coiled on the surface in front of where the hose hooks up to the pump outlet. Over time the area the vacuum cleans gets smaller and smaller until the path on the bottom of the pool is repetitive. After a few more weeks the vacuum develop and intense aversion to staying on the bottom of the pool, instead spending a majority of the time floating off the bottom not suctioning up anything. Despite numerous adjustments the vacuum refuses to remain on the bottom and no longer cleans the corners of the pool. I would highly recommend that a different vacuum as this one does not work for the long run. I'd go lower than one star if possible. The only thing it's really good at is causing me a great deal of frustration trying to keep my pool clean.

This Polaris replaced our older Polaris that lasted 18 years. We are very happy, as the changes made this one even better. The attachment for the bag at the top is easier, the 3 wheels allows the cleaner into the corner more efficiently, the restrictor plate gives better pressure for cleaning. Out of the box, pretty easy to put together, and couldn't be happier. Works great. Working on picking a name for our new cleaner currently.
