This product keeps hot liquid SCALDING HOT FOR HOURS AND HOURS, EVEN WHEN THE LID HAS BEEN REMOVED. You will need to pour your tea/coffee into a separate cup, and let it cool, before drinking it. Don't try to drink it straight out of this container, EVEN IF YOU HAVE UNSCREWED THE LID AND LEFT IT TO AIR-OUT AND COOL-OFF FOR 2 HOURS. I have done exactly that - I unscrewed and opened it, and left it to cool for 2 hours, and I still scorched my tongue and my throat. Sadly this has happened to me more than once, but tonight as I write this I can't taste food and I'm having to take ibuprofen for the pain. I had waited longer than ever today too, before drinking my coffee. Be very very careful. This is a well-made product that performs exactly as advertised, but do be forewarned - you will take a layer of skin off your tongue and your throat if you drink straight out of this thing - EVEN IF YOU TAKE THE LID OFF FOR 2 HOURS BEFOREHAND.On a positive note, if you're planning to use this for cold beverages, you'll be in heaven because it WILL stay cold. I'm giving it only 3 stars instead of 5, because I think the insulation is unrealistic and over-the-top.

Start off by saying stuff stays cold. So it works, however, the 17 ounces capacity is only achieved with the lid off and the liquid filled to the brim. Once you put the lid on, a few ounces automatically spill out because of the nature of the sealed & insulated lid. Actual capacity is closer to 14.5-15 ounces.Also, the paint is cheap so it was scratch easily even during washing.However, the bottle is very nice looking, seals well, and quite narrow. I purchased this because of the narrow diameter so it would fit in my briefcase easily.
