Best Rolling Sharpener on the Market!
I’m no stranger to sharpening, having worked with both freehand and guided systems. Before this, I tried three other rolling sharpeners—two budget-friendly options and one top-of-the-line model.First off, rolling systems like these are effective and incredibly easy to pick up, with almost no learning curve. The HONE’s rolling mechanism stands out right away. It’s noticeably better than the cheaper versions I’ve used and feels just as solid as the most expensive one (though that high-end model has a gearing system, so it’s not a direct comparison). The build is sturdy, the machining is precise, and the magnets holding the discs are impressively strong. Now, about the sharpening discs. The diamond ones from the cheaper sets wore out faster than I’d hoped. The stone and ceramic discs held up a bit longer, but I ran into issues with uneven thickness—clear signs of shaky quality control. The discs on the priciest set were a big step up, and after sharpening a couple of knives with the HONE, I’d say its discs are just as good. Plus, the HONE discs are double-sided, which means they could last twice as long. Then there’s the magnetic knife-holding block. The blocks on the cheaper sets were decent—functional magnets, nice finish—and matched the high-end one in practicality. But the HONE takes it further. It’s rock-solid, grips the counter securely, and has the strongest magnets I’ve seen in a system like this. What really sets it apart is its ability to handle both small and large knives without needing a jig, unlike the others, where fiddling with extra setups got old fast. All things considered, I have no hesitation saying the HONE is easily the best rolling sharpening system I’ve tried. It’s top-notch quality and offers unbeatable value.

A great knife sharpener.
Bought April '25 for £49.00 which included a 29% discount. After trying to sharpen knives by using other methods and getting inconsistent results, I decided to try using this system by Hone. This is so easy to use and the results are great.Hone have included some unique design features that other systems don't have. Easily reversible double sided discs held in place by magnets, metal bearings (which have protected covers, unlike in the photo) that give the roller added weight, long lasting and a smooth operation. The block holds the knives in place securely using two strong magnets on each side and two sides designed to hold smaller knives such as paring and even pocket knives and doesn't move when using the roller. It even has a groove on top to park the roller when not in use.Overall I'm impressed with design, quality, ease of use and the end results.

All on a knife edge
The Hone knife sharpener is a compact and efficient tool for keeping kitchen knives razor-sharp with minimal effort. Its user-friendly design makes it easy for both beginners and experienced cooks to use. The sharpener features a sturdy base for stability and a well-angled sharpening slot that helps restore dull blades quickly. While it may not replace professional sharpening for high-end knives, it’s a great option for everyday use. Overall, it’s a reliable and affordable choice for maintaining sharp knives in any kitchen.

Brilliant rolling sharpener!
After an incredible number of hours deliberating over every possible option for sharpening my knives, I settled on trying out the Hone. I only discovered this relatively recently in my research, but it was clear looking at their website that they've put real thought and innovation into the entire system (not just the roller itself). Having used it now to sharpen some knives I can say I'm really pleased with my decision (it took a blunt knife back to very sharp quickly and easily) and I'll be looking to buy some of their accessories to really go to town on the sharpness. The product feels very well made (got a good, solid weight to it), rolls very smoothly and looks good too. It's easy (and satisfying) to use and I can definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to get incredibly sharp knives from a well designed and thought out system.

It's better to buy this than a cheaper model
Wow!This is so much better than the cheaper versions. I used a £25 rolling knife sharpener and thought it was fine until I experienced the quality of the Hone. This feels better, the quality is higher, the action is nicer, the design is better.I sharpened an old favourite, but dull, camping knife in less than 5 mins, one I thought was beyond saving. One minor irritation; the base is designed to hold the sharpener drum but the instructions on the packaging state to put the items back in the box separately to keep the magnets away from metals. I wish they had a better box, or there was a magnet cover on the base,This was 3 times the price of the other types, but it's got twice and many discs (they are reversible) and the base is superior in every way.I'm very pleased that I spent extra money on this.
