A little small, but well printed
This is technically a reprint - or reedition - of a 1990s French collection of Robert Crumb’s work. A “worst of” collection, showing his most shocking, sexual, or brutal material. This reedition adds about a hundred pages of further Crumb material. I was amazed that they managed to weed it down to only 325 pages, as there was so much to choose from. The presentation of the book is a work of art in itself. Leather bound, printed in gold-edged onion-skinned Bible paper, and attached red bookmark. Takes me back to the type of Bible my grandmother would tote around everywhere, except it’s filled with material I actually want to read.To me it was such a breath of fresh air and reminded me why I became a fan of Crumb in the first place. It is unadulterated pornographic material created without restraint or consideration of outraging the puritan mob. Of course, when much of this material was first created the puritans tended to be conservative Christian republicans, now the pendulum has swung and all the censorious wailing is stemming from the Left. Many of the activist types would have heart attacks at the material here, crying every kind of “ism”, or they might let it go since he’s ostensibly “one of them”, but they often don’t shy away from eating their own. Let that stand as the trigger warning - If you read this book and become offended, then it’s your own fault. The only recurring characters are Mr. Natural, Flakey Foont, and Devil Girl - who have about three stories together. In them Crumb diagnosis the standard dilemma many men find themselves in today. That of the alpha, beta orbiter (or incell), and female passive antagonist. Well before terms like red pill and cuck were common, we see Crumb basically using those ideas in his art. Mr Natural has the Devil Girl in his pocket, but Foont lusts after her. Upset that this nasty woman openly despises him, Font pretends to be disgusted by all of the horrible sexual things Natural does to her, but is really just upset that he isn’t in the driving chair. A perpetual weakling, who wants to be taken care of, but lusts after women who aren’t willing to do that.

A fabulous treasure
What a beautifully produced little book, from the quality hard cover to the red endpapers, gilt page edging, genuine bible-thin pages and red satin bookmark ribbon. Then there's the art, covering Crumb's best sexual fantasies, oddities and perversions from 1968 onward. A version of this book was first published in France in 1986, then updated by a Dutch publisher in 20017. Now an American publisher has had the cajones to bring it out in the U.S. Sure, these drawings don't conform to Antioch University sexual standards, but personal fantasy never has. These ironic and revelatory single page drawings and strips come from one highly talented man's fevered imagination. Most would keep them secret, but Crumb has been willing to share his fantasies for the edification of everyone who's ever wondered "Am I normal? Are there others out there like me?" for his entire career and we should get down on our knees and thank him. I for one, thank him for this little book.

Worth every single penny
To say Robert Crumb is a controversial figure is an understatement. To say he's one of the 20th century's greatest comic artist is an indisputable fact. As a staunch feminist his work is indefensible, even as it's irresistibly entertaining. All that being said, this is a fantastic collection, over 300 pages of his best work, beautifully printed and bound in archival quality. Unless you're the sort of obsessive completeist that I am, it's both the alpha and omega of Crumb's best work. Get this and the Zwigoff documentary and most people will need nothing more.

Keep it away from the kids, but enjoy it after they go to bed
R. Crumb is one of my heroes. Not because he's an artist who draws nasty scenes, though he does, or that he depicts outlandish characters performing debased acts, though he does that too. Crumb brought to me the concept of honesty as a medium.

Robert Crumb is a twisted genius cartoonist.
R. Crumb's most infamous cartoons. If you're easily offended, your head will literally explode when you read this book. You've been warned, so read at your own risk or enjoyment.

Nice collection well bound with gilt edged pages.
Robert Crumb’s art must be viewed within the context of its creation. He definitely crosses borders of taste and decorum but that is exactly the point.

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
Nice, pocket-Bible sort of package... gilt edging, cloth page-marker, and bible-quality paper. A very worthy addition to anyone's collection of Holy Books - if only for the shock value. Essential.

Amazon Prime free shipping made it worth it.
Nice to have the art in one place. The images and print are a little on the small side though.

Disturbingly amazing
Really awesome looking and high quality. A must for any collector of Crumb’s work but we warned: this is some of the raunchiest material I have come across in my life.

Excelente libro

Lord forgive for I have sinned
Absolute filth. The funniest comic sketches I've seen in a long time.
