The First Pitch....
First time pitching a horseshoe was not pretty, but there was an instant belonging to this game or sport. The shoe did not have any known form, flip, flop, turn, curve, etc., but it did reach the pit and somehow, someway, found its way around the stake for a ringer! The next 100 pitches were all different, some not reaching, some hitting backboard, some hitting the cement walkways, and even one rolling and hitting a person's foot! It was not good. The horseshoes at the time were what thought to be professional, but fast forward 10 years, they were actually Wal-mart specials that broke in half on the perfect pitch that hit the top of the stake...there went a hard working, saved-up 20 dollars, lol. After breaking 3 more sets of cheap horseshoes, a simple google search led to many options for real professional horseshoes made of steel and made to last a long time. But, there was some confusion...which horseshoes to use. Apparently, some shoes were designed for flipping and some for turning, but what the heck did that mean?! Afterall, the first pitch didn't do any justice as to what type of horseshoe to use nor did the next 1,000 pitches. Before, deciding to spend $70+ on a pair of horseshoes, something had to be ironed out first...the pitching style. With a few youtube videos on how to pitch and many hours practicing, it became evident that a turn shoe was the best bet as the shoe did turn, so the first pair of actual good horseshoes made its way on the horseshoe pit and they were American St.Pierre's, used for couple years and are now hung on a friends backyard horseshoe pit, rusting away. A new pair of horseshoes were ordered up and tried out every other year for a couple reasons. One was to try out new horseshoes and see if they helped improve the pitch and the other was to have a collection of horseshoes to use at local horseshoe tournaments. Horseshoes was never that big of a game, but fast forward 10 years, it is now very common with lots of interest and with lots of pitchers becoming better pitchers. In the past, there were simple rules of scoring, but within a couple years of one person getting out there and discovering more about the sport of horseshoes, this info was brought back home and introduced with little opposition and made sense. In a short period of time after this, the actual rules or what is known as NHPA rules was accepted and this is the only way to play today. In fact, this has been taken to other parts of Montana to introduce and has resulted in the same response. Anyway, the story goes like this. 2004 was the first pitch without any form whatsoever, by 2009 a turn style was developed, by 2012 won first State Title in the top class, and today, ringer % is 50 and improving each year. The review of this horseshoe is simple...it is designed for a turn style pitch and balanced very nicely, the shoe is flat and has more holding area for a person that pitches a 1 3/4 turn or 1 1/4 turn or 3/4 turn or reverse 3/4 turn. This may affect the turn slightly compared to the more rounder shoes, but if your a great pitcher then it doesn't matter what shoe you pitch. The weight is medium with solid tips and has an inverted ringer breaker. Finally, decided to purchase this shoe since it's designed for a turn style pitch and wanted to try out a new shoe. With that said, the final review goes like this...practiced a normal 40-shoe game in preparedness for the upcoming State Tourney, end result, 29/40 shoes were ringers for 72.5% ringers and...The First Pitch was a real ringer!

Horseshoes that look and feel great.
We ordered 2 pairs - 1 red and 1 blue. The paint job is good and they are smooth with no sharp points.. they feel good in my hand. We haven’t tried them yet but are excited to do it. They came earlier than expected which was a nice surprise. They come with a warranty.

Horse Shoes after using them 4 times -- Exactly what I expected -- very good
These Horse Shoes appear to be of high quality and have worked very well so far.I can't comment about durability since I've used them for less than a month and top quality Horse Shoes should last for years. Personally I would not give any Horse Shoes for a gift since every Horse Shoe thrower likes different shoes.Bottom line -- these shoes are exactly what I wanted for a good price.

Plays very well.
Have been playing these new shoes for half a season now. They do take a little to get used to. There profile is a very flat shoe compared to the rounded of other shoes. Once you get used to the flat surface to hold onto they throw very nice. They hold in the pit like most others, but you will hook up very solid. Overall, I would recommend them and if you are just starting out in the sport, you will not have the adjustment time because you will only know this style. Good shoe, and the company is beyond reproach.
