Rode NT1 (5th gen) is versatile, phenomenal. Parkdeals reliably delivered.
The reputation of this mic's line is already legendary...and well deserved. It comes excellently packaged from the manufacturer. The external shipping packaging was designed to protect it well and minimize shock to the mic, which I really appreciate. When I ordered it, the length of time for receipt was longer than I had hoped for because I was anxious to get it, and I was concerned about that, but it did arrive two days EARLIER that promised, which I was happy to see. If it had been shipped closer to the order date, I would have been ecstatic, but the monitoring software indicated it didn't go out for days...if I hadn't been antsy, this would probably not have bothered me at all...I still received it before it was promised. So I'd be inclined to order from these folks again. The mic is absolutely impressive. Sensitive to all the right sounds without excessive noise floor. Recording quality is phenomenal...unbelievable. It is insanely easy to use with a 32-bit float supporting software through a USBc cable (provided). It also comes with an XLR cable for folks with more professional equipment. Remember to download the ASIO plug in from rode.com. It is attractive, looks like it belongs in the studio, and fits precisely into the Rode boom (a separate purchase) which is solid and strong enough to support it properly and silently in any position I'd need. The mic also comes with a dust cover so I can protect it when not in use, an added touch that those making every attempt to take care of their recording equipment value. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase Rode products from this merchant again!

Pleasantly surprised, even shocked!
I received the mic safe and sound with no issues. Once I received it, I had a relatively low expectation given the culture of "you get what you pay for" when buying products. I plugged it in and started working with levels, then began working on voiceovers, audiobooks, and other projects. For comparison, I recorded the same content using a TLM 193, TLM 103, Warm WA-87, several Lewitt microphones, Audio-Technica microphones, and an AKG C414 XLII. I was utterly shocked by the clarity, cleanness, warmth, and response of the Rode NT1 5th Gen.To be fair, I have yet to try a recent U87, but I didn't find that mic to be suitable for my voice when I tested one years ago. I usually don't agree with the pundits on YouTube, but their testing is legitimate. I don't understand how a mic as light as a water bottle and highly sensitive can sound so good.A few things that can be improved:- The pop filter can certainly use a makeover. It works for simple speech, but can poke through plosives and sibilants.- Would be nice to have a hi-pass filter built in.Other than that, it's truly amazing!

Best mic for the price!
Best mic I've had hands down. Comes with mic cable which helped a lot considering i have a bunch of old cables. The quality is outstanding and the sound is amazing.

Good Deal for the Money!!!
This is my first experience with a Rode and I am impressed ... I am using this in my home studio ....for certain projects this mic is the perfect fit. The price Point is right on and the Rode build quality is as good as any of my higher priced mics i own ... Rode support and app are good ... PLUS it's not as quirky as other condenser mics I have used .. quite forgiving ... I am still a dynamic Guy but this is OK

Best NT1 yet! Love it
Love the tone, 32 bit float in USB. Just wish it had a headphone input for direct monitoring in USB. Total beast in XLR though. Great for my voice-over workflow. Just know you will need acoustic treatment in your room if using for voice over work, or a a closet with room enough for both you and your clothes! Performs well above the price tag!

Another Rode product I love!
I’ve been a Rode user since my film college days and I am again impressed with how good their products are. I recently started getting into music and I needed something that isn’t going to break my bank but has good quality. I landed on this after doing some research and I am super happy I did! Love the quality of the sound I get and the versatility of the dual connectors. USB-C has been a life saver if you just want to record something quick even on your iPhone. XLR is always just better and get that “raw” recording with more information and quality, but I love having both options especially if you travel! The design of the mic is also sleek and clean! One thing I do wish I knew, or maybe because I skipped reading any of the manuals that come with it, is that the microphone records sound only from one side (you facing the gold dot side)For some reason, and I wasn’t the only one, I thought that having the Rode logo facing me was the way, or I just thought it didn’t matter lol. Oh boy it did. I kept hearing my cat in the other room instead of myself, until I went online to look up what environment of the house sounds best for recording and one video said made sure your mic is turned the right way first :-DAfter I got that figured out, I love everything about this mic!

Great professional mic with versatile options!
Awesome microphone that handles my voice really well when I provide my voice overs. Having 2 connection options makes this very versatile and the optional plug and play makes for convenience. It even has a free Rode program you can download to make it better if connecting it via USB. Highly recommended for those trying to use this mic for vocal bases performances.

High quality microphone recommended by Chat GPT
So far, a great mic for my first try at recording, and when registering it the Australian company extended it to 10 years. Reading reviews on Amazon, I got an InnoGear Boom Arm Microphone which is perfect. With the POP filter, USB C interface, and NVIDIA Broadcast that came with my PC, I am surprised at the quality of my recordings using Audacity. all components with the addition of Amazon basics 6.5mm to 3.5mm for my old Audiotechnica ATH-M40 fs headphones make for an affordable professional recording setup.
