I received my rune set with leather mat and was pleased with everything. Yet I was more impressed by the immediate and direct contact I had with customer service when I noticed one of the runes (ingwaz) didn't appear to be exactly like its equivalent that I compared it to in a separately ordered "how to work with runes" book from another vendor. I sent an email directly to Norse Empire explaining that the rune was not exactly like the one matching it in the alphabet of another book. I received an email the same day from a service person apologizing for the inconvenience and they would quickly replace it. I just needed to provide more details and a picture, which I quickly provided via email. The next day I received another email saying they would be happy to replace it and any other rune I was not happy with. I said there was no problem with any of the others. Within an hour, another email came from them - possibly because in getting things ready to send a package to me, another person noticed the "problem" and provided the remedy via email. The ingwaz rune can actually have three different ways of being carved or written. Two of the ways make it look like a square positioned two different ways and a third way adds extensions on the top and bottom corners of a square. On the leather mat provided, the ingwaz rune is a square with no extensions and in the book from another vendor, only displayed the square with extensions. Therefore, the rune that comes with this set was exactly like the ingwaz rune on the leather mat. Therefore, nothing had to be replaced. I was just an uninformed novice to this interesting way of working with runes. I appreciated how quickly they acted to solve what I thought might be a "problem."

Lovely runes. They have a surprising heft and density for being bone. The feel more stone, than wood, for example.The leather mat is acceptable, but perhaps not as nice as I had hoped. Is a bit dry/stiff and “remembers” the folds as it came shipped. The reverse side is very uniform, like cheap upholstery leather, and I assume is coated leather, not full grain. After rubbing in some leather conditioner, it is starting to become softer with less memory. Also, it appears there is an error with the “dagaz” marking on the mat, as it lacks the side lines and resembles a the X-shape of “gebo” instead. I cannot seem to find any variations of dagaz like this, but perhaps I am wrong. The Jera rune on the mat is inverted from the stone, but apparently this was an accepted variation.

The ruins are perfect easy to read easy to use the little casting mat is well made and has that nice leather smell to it. the book is not exactly accurate both from a historical or divination perspective but the product itself is great

Beautiful set... only issue is they put a Gebo rune on the cloth where a Dagaz rune should be...but still, great craftsmanship

A fantastic rune set. The bone runes themselves look quite exquisite. They have a nice weight to them, and give a really realistic old time feel. The bag that they come in is leather and opens up into a mat that can be used to cast your divination upon. I don't really use this that often, but it's helpful if you're casting outside or someplace not so clean. I highly recommend this for anyone who's looking for a solid and durable rune set while maintaining a look of antiquity.

This was my favorite set! When I moved and they got lost i was absolutely devastated and bought a second set. This set is absolutely gorgeous. And being made of bone and having the leather casting cloth makes it that much more special and potent. Absolutely fantastic. The bone i got in this set was much darker and it just adds to the mystique of it all.
