Not up to standard I expected from canon
Bought this MX535 printer to replace my previous Canon printer that I had, had for several years without too many problems and nothing I couldn't fix myself. However the MX535, after only 2 months through up a promlem with paper feed and resultant jamming and no matter how much I tried to sort it the problem persisted. The on line manual was of no help whatsoever, it being very vague in its guidance and instructions.I have now arranged to return it to Amazon and obtain a refund to enable me to purchase another printer which I trust will work well.Another issue with this MX535 printer is the ink cost and amount it used. When it was working I spent over £80 on ink, it was so extravigent.I would not recci end this printer, I wouldn't give it any stars, but have to by default, so reluctantly I'll give it 1 star.I have to say however that I can't fault Amazon in any way, they were very helpful and happily took the printer back even though it was outside their 30day returns policy.

who do their level best to be helpful but are up against the fundamental ...
I bought this in 2014 and have finally and thankfully got rid of it. Everything about it has been dreadful (apart from the individuals who staff the customer service lines, who do their level best to be helpful but are up against the fundamental problem that the stuff is rubbish). The print quality is indifferent in all modes but the ink consumption is astronomical. You have to buy all three colours in one cassette, even if it's only one of them that has run low. It shouts "more ink" long before it's actually needed. There have been lots of other problems but by far the worst aspect is the lack of a manual. There is a so-called online manual which I have tried to use umpteen times but which goes round in circles without ever, in my experience, answering the question or resolving the problem. (A paper manual would be bliss but they're all too mean to provide that and claim that it's because they're being green). Then the thing started to leave blank areas in the middle of the print and, after a lot of patient trying to solve it, the lady on Canon's helpline suggested that it would probably be cheaper to replace than repair. I didn't need telling twice. I have now bought and installed an Epson Expression XP-830 which is a breeze to install and use. Goodbye Canon; your cameras are the best, your printers the worst.

Definetely worth the price
I always had Canon printers and have been always satisfied with them. This does not make an exception. It is a color printer and a scanner as well and it works in wireless and airprint mode. I can print/scan not only from my mac and surface but also from my iphone and ipad. 4 stars and not 5 for two reasons: ink cartridges do not last so long and it does not scan front and back

Product OK but Canon software is lousy
This replaces my Pixma MP210 which replaced my Pixma MP130. Both worked fine for years until Canon ceased to update drivers. The MP210 won't work with Windows 10 hence this purchase. The MX535 is bigger and has wifi, otherwise scan/print operations are no better or worse. Where Canon fails is in software, instructions are inadequate and I could not have set up the wifi without info I found on a forum: main problem, router codes must be entered into the keypad on which letters or numbers are selected by pressing the asterisk key. There is no mention of this in the online manual and no marking on the keypad. The scanning software is very clumsy compared with MP Navigator on the MP210. Other makers seem to have better software and most stuff is made in China anyway, guess I'll try other makes before I replace this one.

How do I return faulty goods?
As this is the only way to communicate with Amazon, as a customer, who wants to return faulty goods. I have a Pixma MX 395 I use for work, which is brilliant and has never let me down (yet). So I bought the MX 535 hoping I would get the same reliability. I was quite pleased with this model, however the wifi is a bit hit and miss at times. The problem started last week when the print quality started to deteriorate. I assumed the cartridge wanted changing, however, after doing this the machine has suffered a complete melt down with error codes, feed malfunctions and unreadable printouts. I have tried all sorts of fixes but the printer just seems to suffer one problem after the other. So, what to do next? Return the item to Amazon as I have only had it for four months. Should be easy enough to do! Right?.... Wrong!!! I have spent the last 90 minutes going round in circles trying to follow these instructions: -" Go to the Returns Support Centre.Click Return items. You'll be taken to a page showing your most recent orders. Locate the order containing the item you'd like repaired and click Start creating your label.Select Defective/Does not work properly in the Reason for return drop down menu."There is no Start creating your label button on the page, so how do I return this order Amazon, please let me know!!(Two weeks later)OK so I might of been on a bit of a rant there, but to be fair, I had to Google the contact address to get what I wanted. However, as soon as I did make contact, Amazon dealt with my problem very quickly. Thank you Amazon!

Broken after 15 months of very light use
We print very occasionally - maybe around 20 pages per month. This printer has been OK - not great, but OK. But today it chewed up some paper, then when we cleared that paper jam, it chewed up some more. AFAICT, a little plastic piece deep inside the paper feed mechanism has popped loose. It doesn't look broken, it's just popped out from where it should be, deep in the bowels of the thing, and now I can't get it back in. I guess that's the kind of build quality you can expect from a £65 printer. I definitely won't be buying another one of these.

A modern does it all printer from Canon.
An excellent printer from Canon, very easy setup, great printing, scanning and connection to tablet. Will not be using the fax.Cons:- a little on the large size, scans in PDF format and don't know how to convert to jpg ---- yet.Its a shame the control view panel is so small and unlit, very hard to see without a torch. But well pleased with delivery and product.
