late beginner/early intermediate
great edition/helpful suggestions [Palmer]: fingering, pedaling etc. no Beethoven metro mark - thank goodness! obviously late beginners/early intermediates won't have any trouble with the main theme, but the rhythmic changes encountered in the 2 secondary themes and a 2 bar chromatic scale need some focus, and you'll need some finesse to play 16 bars of As in the bass clef without letting them take over the piece and swamping it. there are 3 small/short groups of ornaments which can be meddlesome. typical Beethoven teaching piece - you learn a lot and it's also very lovely.

The sheet music works as expected. They didn't need to make me turn the page though. The inner panel comes out and they could have made it so that I could lay all of the music out without turning the page but they didn't. I only docked one star for that, because it's more of an opportunity missed rather then an actual defect.

Conplete traditional piece
Traditional piece of music. Has the added parts at the bottom of the page though. All my students want to play those but it’s difficult with them at the bottom.

The music seemed about what I expected, however they definately needed to put cardboard or something in the package to help protect the piece.. Mine was terribly bent and it will be a bugger now to keep open when playing the piece. :(

Printed on both sides so has to be turn like a book, but with loose sheets - very frustrating
The quality of the printing is excellent as it the paper stock. However, For some bizarre reason this was printed as if it's a booklet. There are two A3 sheets printed back to back and folded in half like an A4 booklet. There's a "cover" with a picture, then 2 pages of text with the history of the piece, followed by 4 pages of sheet music and a list of other pieces they have on the "back page".This means that the actual music (the bit we want and use) is on "pages" 4, 5, 6 and 7.If this was a bound book it would make perfect sense as you only turn the page once. It's not a book - they are 2 loose pages. So, every time you turn the page it flaps around or falls down. You can put the sheets next to each other either as the 3 sheet is on the back of the second. It has been so annoying that I ended up making a photocopy of the 3rd sheet so that I can put them all next to each other.I specifically bought this as I like the heavier paperstock and clear printing in stead of printing a downloaded version with my little deskjet, but it's not been worth the frustration.Lovely as the picture and text is, I didn't want the history of the piece, simply the sheet music. If they printed the sheet music on one side of each of the two pages, and the history on the back of one with the "cover" and "back page" on the back of the other, it would have been significantly more userfriendly.A second option (not ideal, but at least useable) would have been a staple to hold the pages together so that it becomes a booklet with turnable pages.

Clear print
I like this edition because the printed music is large and clearly printed which makes it much easier to read.

Great edition of a Beethoven favourite!
Really good, faithful, & decently priced, edition of this ever popular piece! Great editorial notes, too! Not for beginners: grade 3 upwards, but at least nothing's missing!
