Do you think this item can repair a leak on an air mattress?

Absolutely not, unless your air mattress is made of black rubber. You need to purchase a VINYL patch kit. That comes with vinyl patch material and glue formulated specifically for vinyl. I recommend the "Airhead" kit for vinyl. It's super heavy duty and works great for vinyl pools, air mattresses and snow tubes.

What is the little rubber tube that comes with this kit? It's around 2 inches long and maybe 3 millimeters across. Does anyone know what this is for

You will need about 3/4 inch of that little rubber tube for the valve stem on old European bikes made as late as the mid 1970s. In the 1990s, I re-built and rode old Swedish bikes around Sweden and Denmark, and always made sure I had a few inches of tubing in my repair kit.

Has anyone used this for 25mm road tire tubes? I have a road bike that uses 700x25 tires and the patches I used are too wide and don't create good seal.

You want the sport kit with 16mm round patches. These 20mm ones will work but they go right to the edge and sometimes overlap an 18-26mm tube when laid flat.
