The hype behind Victorinox's kitchen knives is REAL :)
If anyone else here has tried looking for kitchen knives online, a quick Google search will show lots of people recommending Victorinox's cheapest range of kitchen knives as great, sharp knives that are affordable to beginners and home-cooks, and yet still used by career chefs and professional kitchens (such as America's Test Kitchen). So, faced with a drawer full of slightly dulled knives, and annoyed that I can't finely cut a slice of lime without massacring it, I decided to try this chef's knife...I ordered the slightly smaller model than the standard chef's knife that seems to be recommended everywhere online, but it's still a chef's knife from the same range of fibrox-handled kitchen knives (just slightly smaller). Despite this, upon arrival the size is definitely large enough for pretty much all the situations you're going to use this knife for in the kitchen...Okay, I'll get to the point - how does it feel and how does it cut? Firstly, the fibrox handle feels great! The hand position is comfortable, the material of the handle feels pebbley, slightly grippy and definitely higher quality than the standard plastic knife handles you're used to. And IT CUTS GREAT! Testing the knife out on all sorts of things from carrots to apples, to herbs and to limes: it's just refreshing to have a properly sharp knife that cuts through all-manner of subjects with ease. Finally I can make those ultra-thin slices of lime too ;). With care and maintenance, I can definitely see this knife as being someone's 'main knife' for all their kitchen needs, as it seems to do everything you'd want it to do, much better than you're probably used to.Yes, I'm not a professional chef - but if you want their opinion, feel free to Google it and find their glowing reviews of Victorinox's fibrox kitchen knife range too. What I can definitely say is, this knife is very affordable for how premium it feels and how effortlessly well it performs, so if you're in the market for a kitchen knife in this kind of budget - stop looking, and just go with this one!

The sharpest knife I've used
This is in some ways quite a basic and lightweight knife – the blade is quite slender and the handle a simple plastic one like on any old cheap knife. But this is actually a great knife, because the handle is perfectly shaped, the knife well balanced, and the blade incredibly sharp. If you've ever wondered how chefs chop and slice like they do, it's because they have a knife this sharp. It cuts through onion like most knives I've used before cut through tofu. I did some research and bought this because it's recommended by so many experts, and they were right. This is a great knife.

Well balanced and sharp
I'm a big fan of Victorinox, having used the 20cm sibling of this knife daily since 1990. The 15cm is sharp, as is to be expected, has the same amazing balance, and takes an edge well when sharpened. Don't know if I'll love it in 30 years, but I wouldn't be surprised if I did. This Victorinox series should sell at twice the price or more. I have a number of expensive knives that fail in one or more of my main criteria.

Lovely Knife
I have 8 other Victorinox knives but unfortunately, they are unavailable at the moment. I needed a good all-rounder to get me through. This knife is perfect for me in this situation, plus, when I do have knife set again, it will compliment them, too. It’s a great, super-sharp, multi-use knife.

Great budget knife
I'm poor so I can't say I've had a lot of experience with high end knives, but from what I can tell this one works great. It cuts much better than any other knife I've owned previously, and it's very cheap for the performance it gives.
