These are intended to be used as part of elaborate camera mounting rigs.I got them hoping to attach them to a wood surface to facilitate mounting of small equipment as the “cold shoe” has become a sort of de facto standard for mounting a lot of photographic, video, and even audio equipment. And they worked just fine for this. I used two #3 wood screws and a screwed these right to the wood.The same thing could be done with a #3 sheetmetal screw or a #3 bolt and nut depending on the surface.

These make for great additions to various camera rig approaches. These seem to be of good quality so we don't see them failing on us any time soon. The only concern is then keeping from loosening up in certain installed situations. For these occasions, we advise apply a small bit of Loctite to them before screwing them to whatever rig you have going. This will prevent them from ever loosening on you and spinning any. Needed to mount my Vivitar 283 flash to my Graflex Speed Graphic, which doesn't have a cold shoe. The 70 year old camera now has a 30 year old flash! Great little setup. Used the second cold shoe to mount the flash sensor extension below the lens.

I attached one of these to the dashboard of my car so I can attach anything that uses shoes - which is a lot of stuff. In my case a simple mount for my iphone next to the AC so I can navigate more easily/safely.

Two basic cold shoe mounts, which I used to make a DIY mic boom for my GoPro. Note that there are small stop-screws on these cold shoe mounts that keep your flash or mic or whatever from sliding too far. These stop screws orient the cold shoes, so that you slide your mic or flash on one way.Solid, simple, and well made. I have no problem with these.For glueing I sanded the backs a bit to rough them up.

Both the quality of material and machining is good and works as described. I like the fact that they even included an assortment of tools and screws to mount the cold shoe. Another good feature is the positive stop for the cold shoe to keep your equipment from sliding completely through the mount. Not all mounts I've seen have this simple little feature. Good product.

It's very helpful for customizing your rig. Its metallic and sturdy. I've use it in harsh nature conditions for mounting my external mic & monitor and i've had no problem. The plastic with thin aluminum alternatives would have broken for sure.

A well made cold shoe. A nice tight fit on the flash or Olympus red dot sight (which is what I bout it for). I'm happy to recommend this product
