Fantastic Product
I was having problems reading discs in some of our DVD players and especially our computer drives. One of the drives was so dirty that it was not even being recognized when a disc was inserted. When I received this Lens Cleaner Disc I tried it on the worst drive that was not working. Wow! It really worked on this drive so that it is now recognized and works great. Just insert the disc and as it turns it is starting the cleaning process. There is audio in several languages that give use instructions. After using it several times I now just go to track 6 and start the cleaning process. This cleaner has done wonders on so many drives that we feel we have more than received our money's worth. We will definitely replace this whenever it wears out. I do not know how long it will last as we have been using it for about three months so far. We have cleaned the drive in the TV that was skipping and now it works like new. All of the DVD players and video game consoles have been cleaned as well. I actually have a stack of old CD/DVD drives that stopped working and when I get a chance to check them out I believe that some of them may just need to be cleaned as they act the same way the drive on my computer did before it was cleaned. This is the only product that I have ever rated 5 stars across the board. The product works as advertised. It will not fix a defective lens but if it is just dusty/dirty then it will clean it. The price is reasonable for the service that it provides. The shipping was very quick and overall a great product. This is definitely a product that I would recommend that everyone should buy. Almost everyone has a computer or CD/DVD player that could stand to be cleaned. This would actually make a nice gift for anyone who does use their computers a lot as either a corrective or maintenance measure.

Clean Dr Laser Cleaner
I've only used this product once since I've gotten it worked well so far I used to have a disc cleaner like this but it only had 2 brushes on it this one has 10 brushes on it really cool looking brushes go all the way around disc so you know the brushes are doing their job and cleaning the laser I think we need a new way to use our disc media the laser is old tech and is always failing or getting dirty all the time maybe we need to start making all of our disc media players and gaming console's able to play movies and games that are on SD cards that way we can retire the old laser tech that gives us all so many problems. Thank you

Zen and the art of video/audio lens cleaning
There is a buddhist saying that "when the Himalayas have been worn completely down by dragging a veil across them, eternity will have only begun".This is how this product will actually work for most of us:Think about the situation depicted in nearly all reviews. A player has been used and abused for a considerable period of time, near the end of which skips, dropouts and even complete failure have occurred. An electronic or mechanical failure may have occurred.Diagnosis and repair is expensive; the best alternative would be that the DVD/CD player lens has become so thickly coated with smutz (this is a technical term) that the player electronics no longer gets a view of the disc surface sufficiently clear that it can interpret the contents as video or audio information. This is why nearly all of us have purchased this product. (I neglect here those obsessives who have purchased this product to perform routine maintenance, but that is an infinitesimal fraction, and none of you wrote any of the reviews).OK, listen up the rest of you (which includes us). Your player lens is like the Himalayas...encrusted with the analog of vast deposits of silt, rock, snow and ice. Your lens cleaner is a close metaphor for a veil. Guess what? One pass will not reduce the accumulated debris of historical time to a shiny surface! We did as so many of you did. Many/most discs in our Sony CD jukebox were not playing well, or at all. CleanDr had the effect the above analysis would lead a reasonable person to expect....da nada.Fortunately, the jukebox player is equipped with a repeat function. Insert cleaner, start track 6 playing and select repeat track. Set a properly annoying kitchen timer for 10 minutes, and recheck. Nice! Our test track played quite well, but several others did not.Hmmmm. CleanDr has a spiral array of tiny brushes. Our old disc cleaner has a single brush which is much wider. How about using one after the other? Voila! Another half dozen tracks on various discs played much better, but some dropouts remained. I know, I know, enough already. For a really neglected laser lens, use CleanDr and a second cleaner alternatively for a "reasonable" interval (like 10-30 minutes). If you choose too long an interval and damage your lens, you chose an unreasonable interval. We, on the other hand, can continue to push the envelope on the lifetime of our Sony player (replacement of which is now 4 times the price we paid for it a decade ago); and you can too.If we didn't need a second cleaner, we'd have rated this 5 stars.Naturally, we now religiously perform laser lens maintenance about weely.Don't you love the sound of the last laugh goin' down?
