Okay for the price
Needed something small enough to cut off a watch band spring that didn't want to come out with any of my watch tools so cutting it was the only option. This did the job but it ended up bending a bit and a bit of metal shaved off. For what I paid is not bad, it did the job as expected. It's actually still good enough to cut easier things like zip ties but I wouldn't recommend them for more solid objects. Or maybe it'll work for some jewelry? Idk I guess it'll depend on what you're trying to cut.

For light duty use Only for use on SMALL diameters
The model 170 is a great cutter for small items only. Things like cutting very small zip ties, snipping off some solder (small diameter only), small soft (copper) wire no bigger than 18 awg, and such. The cutting tips will break off easily when misused. The model 170 works great in small spaces, and even for certain hobby work. But be warned, the tips break easily, unless you know it's limits. I highly recommend this light duty tool.

"It ain't what it used to be"
I very much liked the pair I bought several years ago. They have become a bit less sharp with abuse and lots of use, so I ordered a new pair of the same model.Upon their arrival I noticed they were made of marginally thinner metal and that the pivot seemed less substantial than in the original. As you can see in one of my images, the old ones were clearly marked "Made in the USA." The new ones are deceptively marked "Made in the [blank] with the lettering rearranged to hide the area after the word "the" under the blue plastic grip. I pulled back the grip to have a look. That makes me believe they are either counterfeit or a cheapened genuine version made offshore. Not awful for the price, but no long the great value they once were There are plenty of cheaply made offshore low cost cutters availble. I was looking for better US made like the old ones.
