Build and material quality are very good, and I really like the fact I can ...
I bought this carrier to bring my dog in cabin on an international and overseas flight. Both Air France and Air Canada gleefully approved it despite having much more stringent size restrictions on these flights compared to domestic.Build and material quality are very good, and I really like the fact I can choose which openings to keep open or closed. Zippers and panels also open and close with ease; the carrer has obviously been pretty well thought out. I also discovered I could unzip the panels and mesh only part way so when it's appropriate, so my dog can peek her head out while still remaining safely inside (see pictures). The carrier is easily flexible so there's no problem fitting it under the seat and wrapping my legs around it, yet it keeps its shape quite well, and regains its shape quickly when I take it out. PreferPets really looks they have hit the sweet spot in this delicate balancing act between flexibility and keeping the shape. My dog quickly adopted it, the pad is luscious, although I add a thin foam pad on top for more comfort. If your pet is an escape artist like my Min Pin, beware the zippers are exposed from the inside so you may need to lock the zippers on the outside to prevent your smart furry friend from skilfully opening the carrier themselves :P. However, my Min Pin has yet to even try, she seems quite content in this carrier, even if it's for long hours, and she'll spontaneously go back in her carrier to rest, so we're both super happy campers.

Poor design and quality
The very thin base is not firmly attached to the body of the carrier with Velcro like in other carriers. My cat flipped around in the carrier so much, that during our 2 hour flight, he ended up with the base on top of him, inside the carrier. Unfortunately I bought 2 of these in different colors, both will be donated as I will never use them again.

Works for me!
I love it . . . not that my kitties do lol. This is so much easier to lug around than a hard sided-case. It still doesn't necessarily make the cats happy to be in the car, but I find it kind of amusing that they paw at the sides trying to escape - that's not something they do with the traditional carriers. Instead the smoosh their faces against the metal door and make me feel bad while pushing it back and forth. I read the reviews of like every soft-sided carrier that is available on amazon before purchasing these, and I'm glad I did, because things I had never thought about, like kitties being smart and manipulating the zippers while at the airport (eek!!!) do apparently happen. These zippers seem like they are pretty sturdy and stay in place and the canvas that the bag is made out of is pretty thick and durable so I'm not concerned about escape artistry. We have one cat that has front claws and another that doesn't but is a chewer and neither have been able to do damage to the mesh. I like that there are so many different openings when it's time to get the kitty inside, because we have one that is a top-loader and one that is a side-loader, and their hard sided cases were built to accommodate that, so it was nice to see that we can still wiggle them in the way that they are used to for those car rides to their grandparents ;) There's a nice shoulder strap that I haven't used and a luggage tag that I will never use since I would never ship my cats anywhere, and also some kind of like harness clip inside so kitties can't escape immediately upon unzipping I believe - all nice features for people who plan to take their cats somewhere like an airport or roadtrip. Good luck and god bless. 30 minutes in the car is plenty for us.

Nice bag, thought the sides had one roll up cover but no. Fairly good ventilation, mesh is strong. The pad is not rigid enough, it should have a piece of hard plastic underneath.

Very dissatisfied
After doing a lot of research to make my dog as comfortable as possible while traveling home for Christmas, I really liked the concept of this pet carrier. I was really excited to use it. The thicker rubbery mesh seemed like it would be more durable and I expected this bag to last a while. I liked that at times I could close up the sides so my dog couldn’t see what was going on around her. Unfortunately, after just 15 minutes of being on the plane my dog chewed a hole through the mesh side and managed to get her head and front paws through. I have a small 10 pound non-aggressive chewer. I am very disappointed that it didn’t even last one trip. I’m going to have to purchase a different carrier for my return flight after the holidays. I would not recommend this carrier to anyone.

Would work best with Teacup size dogs
This worked well for my 10 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, but she outgrew it in a few weeks. Would work best with Teacup size dogs.

Amazing carrier!
I bought these to travel from California to Michigan with my kitties, i found this one because it was one of the few that just barely fit spirit airlines' travel requirements of a very short carrier.I've got to say, these things are AMAZING! (I bought two). My girl Zoey kept nervously scratching her hardest to get out, and these held up perfectly. The mesh is so strong, i couldn't believe it didn't rip. They've also got a good sized extra compartment if you need to store anything small with them like travel documents or a pouch of food or medicine, and they've got two ways of carrying, either a reinforced shoulder strap or reinforced handles.I also love how it opens up from every side, it was really helpful especially considering they make you take your cat out of their carrier in the middle of security, so having that entry in the top made it SO much easier to get them back in than it would have been otherwise. It was also very smart design to allow for the entries to just have the mesh open or to have them covered by the second zip layer of fabric, that way you could control which way they're looking or just be able to put them in darkness if need be.The inside is also very well made, the removable pad is super soft and plush.Overall, the BEST carrier I've ever seen. Awesome product!
