Does this detect gold lost my gold ring in the attic can't find it in the insulation

I just tried my scanner on my wedding ring. YES it does work -- BUT you have to have the switches on the side in the right position. The RED swatch should be ON -- but the BLACK switch should be OFF. If both switched are on, it won't detect the ring. Good Luck
