It runs small. I usually wear a medium but the reviews said that it ran small so I bought a large. It fit perfectly.Had over a foot of fresh snow to contend with and figured that I would wear my new bum-guard so if I sipped, tripped or fell on the ice (and my bum) I would get to see how it worked in action!I didn’t fall. But, I wore it all day and forgot that I even had it on! So that says something.Going to wear it when I roller skate. Which, the likelihood of my falling is much greater. HA !Will update as I go along. So far, I really like it.

I use it for outdoor roller skating. The butt padding is not very thick. Hips & side could suffice. But you could add a little sponge. I’m a 120lbs, 5’6” female size X-large fits well. Had it 2 months now - no wear & tear.

Very good coverage and enough protection to take the edge of of most falls. My son uses these riding his dirt bike, skateboard, mountain bike and skiing.

Update: The seller gave me a refund long after they were obligated to do so. THANKS! ALSO they do make a version that gives better protection to the Butt Bone and Flesh that surrounds it...Search for: "Soared 3D Protection Hip Butt XPE Padded Shorts for ski, ice Skating, Snowboarding, Skateboard for Men Women"I bought the other version and it has saved my butt multiple times now!Original Review for this product:I hurt my butt muscle just at the bottom part of the butt bone. The first time I took these out skating I fell five times, these helped me deal with the fall and I was fine. The next time I went out, more confident, and with faster skates, I fell at a faster speed and differently and painfully discovered that the butt bone is not protected by these shorts. OUCH! The muscle right at the part where I sit took the hit and now I have a purple bruise and it hurts to sit. I'm shopping around for a better pair with protection lower down than these give.This product is however, easier to sit on. The one with better butt protection feels a bit weird when I sit.

Our daughter is a beginner ice skater. Only really goes when there is a birthday party for her friends. This padded shorts are perfect. She said nobody even knew she was wearing it under her clothes and, coupled with some knee pads, she now calls her gear her secret weapon and doesn't dread skating party invites!

Size are accurate

I would not recommend these. They do not disperse the energy from an impact as well as the CRS brand or others with cushioning foam. The foam in the Soared and similar brands are much too firm and stuff. I had these as my spare ones that I wore while visiting in Florida. When I fell back because someone skated into me, I felt much more jarring and could not get up right away. Usually, I wear the CRS pads at home and when I have fallen back on those, I was able to get up right away and did not have any pain afterwards. But with this Soared brand I have still not been able to skate again after five days and still have pain when I sit down or squat, cough or sneeze. They are also uncomfortable with the Velcro closure because it can touch your skin. I recommend the CRS brand or Skating Spirit brands instead for ice skating as an adult.

it was way too big. I think it is meant to fit over ski pants and I needed it for figure skating
