Q: Where is connector located in 2015 Subaru Outback ?

Not sure where it is in the 2015 Outback but in my 2009 Forester it was on the drivers side underneath the foam storage inserts in the trunk.

Q: wear is the plug on a 2013 outback

for a '15 crosstrek it's behind the trim panel covering the back of the driver side taillight, down near the floor. Had to remove the trim panel just inside of lower weatherstripping for lift gate first; I think the instructions indicated that for an outback it's farther forward, nearer the wheelwell.

I was wondering the same thing, so I pulled the trim panels out of the back of my 2015 Impreza Sport Hatchback. Based on a video of the Crosstrek install of this part, there is a small white plug under the driver's side taillight in the Crosstrek that this plugs into. The plug is non-existent in my Impreza. I checked under the passenger side too just in case, but no luck.
