Like many other people, I've started using the wood burner that was in the house when I moved in (several years ago). The problem of course is that it has to be cleaned out after use so I needed a bucket like this for the ash. I'd looked at ash vacuums but decided that there wasn't much time being saved with one of those so bought this bucket and a shovel with brush. Takes a couple of minutes and job done.Update: I've seen a few reviews that complain that the lid doesn't fit, or only balances on top of the bucket. The simple fact is that the picture in the ad is misleading, in that it shows the lid 'upside down'. If you put the handle on the inside of the concave shaped lid it fits well ('Steph' posts a perfect picture). Another reviewer pointed out that the bucket handle attachment gets in the way a bit, well that's true but it does slide in place easily enough.

It does the job for hot ashes but i feelNot strong enough for a bucket yo be full of coal .

Where to start.Firstly. The bucket itself does look nice and will do the job I bought it for (keeping kindling in) however it's came with a label on it that was just a massive pain to remove and left just this horrible residue that took a lot of cleaning to get of.Secondly. It was missing the lid which to the sellers credit they were very quick to respond and had a replacement lid sent out within a couple of days.Lastly. Thishas got to be the worst packed item I've ever received from vendor. The bucket came in an oversized box which had been refused and had no packing inside to hold the bucket in place, I was actually extremely surprised there wasn't a single scratch on it.Even with the issue's and poor packing, I have still given them what I think is a fair rating as their customer service was good and it is a nice looking kindling bucket that seems well made.

We use ours to keep kindling in, rather than as an ash bin. It stands on the hearth beside the log burner and looks good.

This arrived today & is very poor quality, the lid knob hole is not in the centre (it has to be fixed by the buyer) and the lid won't stay on, it slide's off - it simply does not fit. I thought it'd be pretty tough to design a bucket & lid poorly - turns out I was wrong! The metal is very thin, that please (if you do order one of these & I recommend you don't!) that as it is not boxed or wrapped in anything other than 1 player of bubble wrap & a bin-bag - don't expect to to be undamaged. Mine is dented, warped / crushed.

Lid shown upside down in the photo no problem this product is superb & worth every penny the knob comes inside for minimal assembly it's excellent for the job (ash)

Good size and looks great serves its purpose well. The lid just sits on top so keeps falling off when you move it
