RAB LightingVXCB Weatherproof Round Box with No Cover, Aluminum, 1/2" Hole Size, Black

I have had this RAB water proof black round box and Rab companion black round cover plate in service for the past year. It supports a shiny black light fixture. It works well and is waterproof which is most important. electrically. The disappointment is black paint has faded from it's initial shiny black finish. I deliberately ordered the black finish thinking the industrial paint would hold up being exposed to the sun like the shiny black black fixture it supports. It dose not and is now a dull black. Electrically it is just fine.

as others have mentioned, the threading size is not standard. had to get creative to mount my light, couldn't use the hardware that comes with it.

I needed to mount a light fixture outside on a brick wall. I wanted one that wasn’t this thick because I was mounting this on a brick wall. I couldn’t recess this into the wall due the amount of brick removal that would have been required. I only wanted the hole in the center in the back. I could not find a shallow junction box suitable for outside use. I believe this box did seal with the rubber gasket that came with the light. This one had plugs in the side ports, so that wasn’t a problem. The finish was good and the mounting tabs allowed the box to be secured to the wall.

The junction box itself is great. Right color, works and no issues there. However, it describes that there are screws and a gasket included but they are not. This take 10-32 screws and they don’t include them. The ones that came with the light (two different sizes) didn’t work so it made it a huge pain when it should have taken 5 minutes to install. Really frustrating. It also didn’t include the gasket.This product works but they need to provide the items listed.

Distance is a bit farther than I expected. It doesn't detect closer than 20 feet.

It was easy to install and looks great.
