Frank Lloyd Wright Saguaro Glass: 1,000 Pieces

I bought this here several years ago, and had a wonderful time putting together this really well-made jigsaw puzzle. The image is super crisp, the pieces are precisely cut and fit together pefectly, and the finished product is so pretty that I taped the back for framing.Lesson learned - if you want to frame it, buy a poster. Keep the puzzle available to do it again in a few years, and this one is certainly made well enough to be put together and taken apart many times.

Positive: Colors were true to photo and of good quality.Con: (this was a biggie) The cardboard layers were delaminating and splitting. Puzzle was abandoned due to poor quality before it was complete. This really took the joy out of it.Puzzles by other companies (Pomegranite and Ravensburger) have been better quality.May order from this manufacturer again hoping that this was a 'fluke'

I remember watching my Dad do puzzles growing up and helping him, I had always enjoyed it so much. I had not done a puzzle in over 10 years but chose 2 500 piece ones to put in my twin boys room. I was hooked again! Having those completed very quickly made me want to move up to a 1000 piece, and I looked at several on Amazon. The reviewer who mentioned the sharp color contrast and straight lines making it easier than it looked, also another review not recommending it to experienced jigsaw addicts, lol, made my decision.Completed, it is absolutely beautiful. I was not sure about the matte finis when I opened the box, h but now I love it. Beyond pleased by how sturdy the pieces are. There were some very tricky parts/pieces, it did cause some times of major frustration, but, again, this was my 1st 1000 piece.I would say this is a great puzzle for someone 1)moving up to a 1000 piece puzzles 2)getting back into doing puzzles 3) a Frank Lloyd Wright fan. I agree with the other reviewer that would not recommend it to experienced jigsaw addicts, unless you really love the design, I imagine they would have it completed very quickly.Considering the fact that I have 4 year old twin boys, I first spent most of my time sorting the pieces into several resealable bags by section. I don't know how many hours I spent on putting it together, but from the time I started the outside border until my last piece was a late Fri night to the next Wed. mid-day.One more thing, when you get this puzzle, it looks like it comes in a sturdy plastic resealable bag. To save anyone a few minutes of time and trying to figure out how to get it open, the bag is not resealable, it just appears that way, just an FYI!4-11-10 Edited to add: I have started another 1000 piece puzzle and will say this one was much harder! It was also much more enjoyable. I also want to add that the Pomegranate brand is 1000 times better than the current brand I am doing, a popular one on Amazon. I am about to purchase the Tiffany: Butterfly Window by Pomegranate, the quality of the pieces is exceptional and worth the extra few dollars!

The boyfriend and I have been looking for a puzzle to work on during breakfast every morning. We were thinking a piece a day, but it turned into a wonderful activity for every meal! We had that puzzle laid out on our kitchen table and worked on it for about a month (we are busy grad students!). We enjoyed every minute of it and now it is framed and hanging in our living room. Great activity to do with your significant other/family -- you won't be disappointed. The pieces are sturdy, so great for kids (or messy boyfriends)!

This is a very beautiful, challenging, high quality puzzle. Probably my favourite. The pieces are substantial with a wonderful matte finish that cuts down on glare. The colours and patterns are vivid and clear. The patterns in the abstract design are fascinating. The whole design forces you to focus on colour and abstract shape, which adds to the challenge. Spectacular!

Was very excited to purchase, but expected a more difficult puzzle to complete.Beautiful to see, and comes with info on Wright. Would not recommend to experienced jigsaw puzzle addicts.

This puzzle was a pleasure. First, all of the pieces were there. The finish is not glossy, so we weren't putting up with glare from certain angles. The puzzle was not packaged with much dust at all. Very clean. And the pieces were cut nicely out of a nice quality board. Would buy another Pomegranate puzzle again.
