I'm generally happy with this product overall
I'm generally happy with this product overall, although so far I've only used it a few times. Here are a few minor critiques:(1) As another reviewer pointed out, the flow rate does tend to diminish after some amount of time, at which point the valve needs to be readjusted in order to keep the water dripping. In one case I failed to readjust it before going to bed, and the next morning I woke up to find ~100 mL of water still sitting in the upper chamber, with no movement at all.(2) The rubber nub that attaches to the upper chamber for the water to drip through never seems to adhere to it very well. When I'm moving the valve to adjust the flow rate, it always feels as if the whole assembly is about to fall apart. To Hario's credit, it hasn't happened so far though.(3) I also own the Hario Mizudashi immersion cold brew maker, which is much cheaper. Supposedly drip cold brew makers do a better job of preserving the brighter, fruitier flavors, but so far I haven't noticed a difference. I like the coffee that this makes about as much as I like the Mizudashi coffee. Go figure.

The fullest most flavorful iced coffee I've ever had
I'm a bit of a coffee snob, and my favorite preparation is iced coffee.Having tried this method of brew before, I knew it was outstanding and hoped the Hario dripper would help me reproduce it at home.It did not disappoint. The coffee is flavorful and the preparation opens up dimensions of flavor that completely burn off under the hot-brew-then-ice method.I want to share some problems/solutions that are easy to overlook:The first issue I faced was getting the drip rate right. I researched this and found that one drop every 1.5 seconds was recommended (2 drops every 3 seconds). I would shoot for one drop per second. Set it before you go to sleep and it will be ready by morning. In my opinion, the yield is not a concentrate, and I drink it straight. The second issue was that the water stopped dripping with about 1/6 of the water remaining in the tank. I realized that the dripper spigot is so small that the bubbles in the water I was using were clogging it. I switched the water source--used tap instead of filtered--and the problem resolved. Finally, I heard someone else mention this, and I would have completely skipped it had I not read the instructions thoroughly: you must moisten the grounds prior to turning the dripper on. Just a quick splash of water and a stir will do the trick, but if the grounds are not moistened, I've heard horror stories of water backing up and overflowing.

Cheap valve - not adjustable
It is impossible to adjust the drop speed using the cheap valve - it’s either too fast or too slow. Returning and ordering a Gina that I bought for my friends and tested already.
