Q: If the mustard and ketchup squirt string, can the string be put back in or does it come out and eventually run out of string?

The string only comes out a couple of inches, then goes back in when the bottles are turned upright. The string never actually leaves the bottle.

Q: How does the salt and pepper "shake?" Does it actually come out of the shaker? I have a child under 3 years old.

I’ve had this set since Christmas 2020 and the hot sauce is just as full as it was upon arrival. It has never “went away”
