Gates Original Classic Bar-B-Q Sauce, 18 Ounce Bottle (Pack of 2), Kansas City Style Barbecue Sauce

I’m a native of KC & grew up with Gates and Arthur Bryant, and still get back there frequently. This is legitimate Gates sauce, and it’s a pleasure to have it delivered safely & not have to worry about whether it might break in a suitcase. Wish the ribs travelled as well.

Spent years looking for this specific barbecue sauce. Somehow found it here on Amazon.It's the perfect BBQ sauce to my taste buds. Perfect in smell, taste and consistency.

I am obsessed with this BBQ sauce and am so bummed no stores sell it in my area (I'm far from KC). It's not super sweet and has the perfect amount of spice. You can actually taste the vegetables in it which is something I haven't experienced in a BBQ sauce. I originally purchased this for the big game for my KC themed food and will 100% buy this again. It's not super thick and sticky and you can taste the ingredients. It has a little kick to it but not super hot. It wasn't cheap but it was worth the money in my opinion.

I discovered Gates BBQ sauce back in 1976, when I was in the Air Force stationed just outside Kansas City. They had a small chain of family owned BBQ restaurants called Gates and Sons BBQ. Their sauce was then and still is absolutely remarkable! It is so good, that when I moved back to California, I asked my in-laws in KCMO to send me bottles of Gates BBQ sauce via UPS. It is so unique and tasty, we would sometimes sneak a teaspoon of sauce all by itself just as a taste treat. It really is that good! There is nothing else like it. Probably the best application of this sauce is on pork or beef ribs. The taste combination of beef ribs and Gates sauce and ice cold beer is just insane! This classic sauce is provocative and full of flavor, but not overpowering. Believe me, this is something special!Give Gates a try -- you won't be sorry.

Overall good. Saw a cooking show that had this listed as the best of K.C. sauce. Not so much if you like a thicker, sweeter, more tomato sauce. just okay.

It is the best barbecue sauce on planet Earth. 7 years ago, when I worked in Saudi Arabia, I would purchase bottles of gate sauce and then transfer them to a 3 l soda bottle. I would cap it with electrical tape so that it was secure, and I would take the barbecue sauce. Some 7,000 mi from Kansas City to Saudi Arabia. Best sauce ever.
