Compact and light for a 500W inverter. High efficiency
Great little unit. Works brilliantly powering the 'sensitive' items I've tried so far, all using the 12v power plug. Fan runs immediately from switch on and is noticeable, as others have commented.Case remained cold at the loads I was running. The supplied croc lead cable is not of sufficient size for much above 300W, and would need upgrading, but that's not an issue for me, and I would recommend this unit and buy again, especially at the price, and fast delivery.

Good so far, USB power works even when inverter is off
Nice colour and shape.Inverter works, but I have not been stressing it, max I have used is a 400W rice cooker. It's nice that the USB ports work even when the inverter is off, so you're not wasting power if you're not using the inverter at the same time.

Good 500w Inverter for TV
The media could not be loaded. I have recently invested heavily in a solar setup to try and reduce our paid for energy consumption. Most of what i have bought includes purpose made solar generators which can be easily transported around the house. I have 3 fixed 200w solar panels and 1 flexible 200w panel which i move around the house dependant on the sun's location.Recently i had to replace my car battery and had the bright idea of trying to use the old 12v car battery as another form of solar power storage. This required me to purchase some additional equipment such as a MPPT charge controller and an inverter. I had a small 300w car inverter that i purchased years ago and thought i would see if it was powerful enough to power a 65" TV. I connected this to the car battery but it did not work, the TV immediately made a buzzing sound and i unplugged it immediately. I highly suspect this may be due to the fact it is not a pure sine wave inverter. I Therefore decided to invest in a small powered pure sine wave inverter - this Bestek had mixed reviews, with some saying it did not output a true sine wave, others however said it worked great. I decided to order and try it out for myself. .The inverter is bright pink in colour and comes with two crocodile clips connectors. The wires are a very thin gauge so i decided to up them to something more substantial. My TV draws around 60w in eco mode with a start up surge just over. The connections to the inverter are simple and straight forward with screw clamps. Once wired to the battery i switched on the inverter and it sprung to life. There is a built in fan which came on immediately even without any load attached - it is fairly noisy! Plugging in my TV the inverter provided the relevant power. There were no humming noises, nor was the audio or picture distorted, this brings me to believe that this inverter is indeed outputting a true sine wave. TV's and other sensitive equipment tend to not like modified sine waves and you will normally hear a buzzing noise. That did not happen with the Bestek. It all worked and i was chuffed! My only criticism of the bestek is the annoying fan noise, even at very low wattage loads the fan kicks in, after a around a minute the fan speeds up and becomes even louder - bearing in mind this was only pulling around 68 watts peak the fan seemed overbearing. We have this inverter in the bedroom and the noise of the fan is distracting, in a larger room you would not notice it as much perhaps. I have included a video review to let you hear the start up fan, towards the end of the video when a small load is applied you can hear the fan noise increase.Build quality wise, it appears good, aluminium chassis, decent UK 3 pin plug outlet, on/off switch on the front and two low powered USB A ports.Overall i am happy with my purchase - it does the job i wanted - i just wish the fan was 'smart' and varied according to need/heat rather than being always on.I hope that you found my review helpful.

500 Watt sine wave inverter
As the title says 500 Watt sine wave inverter. Fan is always on and can be a little bit noisy In quiet places runs great

This IS PURE SINE
Perfect. I'm an engineer and was sceptical of this device at the price but I was honestly amazed at its performance. Pure sine wave, less than 1% THD at 450 watts with a mixture of inductive and resistive loads, that's using a Tektronix Digital Oscilloscope FFT maths function and also in normal mode. Also tried overloading it at 750 Watts for a few minutes. All ok, still Sinusoidal, voltage dropped a bit. Be aware the USB ports are live and consume some power even when the unit is switched off. Also, yes, the fan runs all the time when the unit is switched on, and speeds up when under heavy load.

Great pure sine wave, great price.
The picture says it well. At this price point finding such a high quality pure sine wave is fantastic.

Just works
I bought this to dabble in a small solar project and it works a treat. Powers what I need it to. As others have said, the fan runs all the time and faster when under load.

Works well on leisure battery
Clips fit onto leisure battery terminals on the caravan, and I can conceal the inverter in the battery box itself and send the charger cables through the window to recharge my mobile and battery pack.
