This is the one, update w pics.
After reading reviews for bagless vacs I decided to stay with Hoover bagged since that's what I had for 14+ yrs. This vacuum is the upgraded version of the WindTunnel Tempo that it's replacing and it's worth considering for the following reasons.1- Better roller brush powerhead with window to see brush, on/off foot operated brush roller switch on top of power head, upper body release switch at back of power head foot operated and push dial selector to set roller brush height.2- The hose is very long (finally), rubber coated and well made unlike the old model that was too short, made of cheap weak plastic that collapsed if using the wand and was always coming out of the tabs that held it. There's a release lock on this one keeps it attached. Don't let the length concern you it has plenty of suction and stretches out for up high dusting without falling over. A second wand would have been nice but not needed, I still have the old ones which fit if needed.3- Nice long power cord that comes out the back of powerhead (there's a notch just below the back of the handle which is meant for it, just push it into it) so you won't be running over it or having to hold it. Switch is on handle more convenient than on top of body like old one was.4- The small roller brush tool attaches to the front of the handle and is out of the way, handle also has curved section not found on old model. The upper handle is the only thing you have to attach by removing 1 screw, you slide top of handle into its place then put screw back in using a phillips head screw driver, there's a card on that screw telling you what to do. It saved Hoover using a really tall box just for that and it's easy to do, it does not pull out either!5- One of the best improvements is the bag/holder access door that has a click lock/release and a handle so no more pulling it off, it also holds the bag, there is a red bag holder release that makes changing bags much more pleasant, you just press red holder and bag drops into trash and putting new bag in is just as easy just unfold bag slide it into the holder and when you close the door it will push bag onto the pipe, on old model you had to struggle hoping the bag didn't tear or if it was on far enough. Hepa filters below and to the side of bag for exhaust air and is why I decided to stay with a bagged vacuum.6- It has a headlight which I replaced by wiring in two led strip lights (it uses a 921 T10 socket/bulb same as autos, so I just got some 921 male sockets, ran the wire under the edge of power head and into light housing for a clean look) onto the entire bumper front and sides for a brighter experience since my eyes need the light and I won't need to wear my headlamp, just 2 screws hold bulb lens/cover on. The power cord winds around the tabs on back of vacuum, notch on plug attaches it to itself. The dusting brush fits on the back and the crevice tool fits into the wand which attaches to the side of vacuum. Rubber bumper on powerhead.7- The suction is amazing, I had to vacuum up a powder like substance which it said in vac instructions might mean the bag would need changing sooner which I did anyway but didn't have to. Think cornstarch or baby powder all over living room floor and hallway that I'd been walking on for days, it handled that just fine. Some have said this powerhead grabs onto carpet/rug and stops it turning but I was told long ago that with Persian type area rugs like mine that are made on a loom the nap of the threads go in one direction so you just have to vacuum from the opposite end or side to side and that grabbing won't happen or adjust roller height. On the shag wall to wall carpeting it isn't even an issue.8- It has an auto shutoff safety in case you run the motor way too long, if my old vacuum had that I wouldn't have had to buy this new one but glad I did. Maybe that's why other reviews complained about it shutting off but I used it for an hour+ getting all that powder up, either stopping the brush turning or shutting vacuum off if I had to move things now that I know you can't just run a vacuum for too long but it never stopped. I doubt it's the switch since that's recessed into the handle out of the way.9- If you've ever used the small roller for upholstery you know it takes getting used to, a light skim is best due to the suction on this. So, I'm glad I found this and decided to stay with a Hoover bagged vacuum, this is just a really great much improved version (except the light) of the old one and 14+ years is a long time for a vacuum that saw more than its share of dust dirt dog and cat hair all those years with only maintenance being new rollers and belts or filters. Tried and true - great vac
this is the third of this vac that I've bought for myself and parents. I had older version to replace. These are the reasons I like it:1. it is BAGGED and bags are cheap ( especially third party ones). After trying bagless vacs - I returned them in disgust - messy. Always struggle to undestand why anyone would use baggless.2. It does NOT have SWIVEL. I found that swivel feels nice for the first several minutes - but for actually using it it puts more stress on hands.3. It does NOT have LIFT UP (i.e. like when you can disconnect the motor and move it around). I found that lift-up models have big drawback. Because motor sits a bitt higher than on model like this, during vacuum you actually takes more effort and puts more stress on hand to hold the handle. On this model motor sits close to the bottom.4. At 16pbs - It is not lightest, but not heaviest among the uprights. I found that the weight does not matter that much for actual vacuuming - since you roll it on big wheels and it moves effortlessly on carpet. I guess if someone .5. Has HEPA filter.7. Simple to use. Does NOT have multitude of buttons that could be confusing to an older person. My mom is 83 and simplicity was needed.5. It has all needed attachments to do any kind of vacuuming around house.6. Easy to carry handle.7. Powerful suction and handle to turn off brush.Overall - solid performer that has tried and tested design. The only problem I had with older model: After many years the 2 small wheels at the bottom stopped moving freely because of the rod that holds them got corroded. That resulted in vac was difficult to roll.I recommend it.

Zero regrets purchasing this after months of use
I held off reviewing this vacuum cleaner for a few months, as writing a review for a brand new appliance doesn't really mean a whole lot from my perspective.Overall, this is an excellent vacuum cleaner that I would highly recommend to most people.I live in a house with physically disabled folks, cats, and physically disabled cats. There's carpet everywhere but the bathroom (yes, including the kitchen 😵💫). The floors here can be FEMA-certifiable disasters. This $150 Hoover does what my $500 Dyson Ball Animal 2 couldn't: survive this house. Where the Dyson would get clogged filters and hair wrapped around the plastic roller in the head, I've had to do very, very little maintenance on this Hoover. I just changed the bag today, for the first time in months of use, and the filters were still perfectly clean. I still have to take out the occasional bit of string or hair from the roller, but it's not nearly as bad the roller in the Dyson. I believe this is due to the unique geometry of the roller in the Hoover head (shown in the photo), whereas the Dyson's is just a cylinder. The other reviews saying that this vacuum doesn't throw around dust like bagless vacuum cleaners are absolutely correct. All of the air goes through the bag, and the bags are very good filters.Changing the bags involves no mess and very little hassle. Hold the central unit over a garbage can, press the red tab and shake the bag loose; let gravity do the work for you. Slide a new bag back in its place, check the filters (which is easy and obvious to do when you're looking at it), slide the central unit back in, and you're good to go.The suction is as good as the day I got this vacuum cleaner, which is to say it's fantastic. Matching the vacuum height adjuster on the vacuum head to your carpet height really helps a lot with that.Factoring in the cost of bags and my time with maintenance, this Hoover had been such a better investment than the Dyson. I anticipate this unit lasting years to come, but I will update my review should that change. This being said, I have a couple complaints to make. The huge, silly foot pedal on the head of the vacuum to turn the bristles on or off can get snagged when trying to vacuum under a couch or bed. If this feature could be some sort of switch or lever elsewhere on the unit so I have an easier time getting under the couch, that would be fantastic.Secondly, the cheap plastic wheels on the unit are, indeed, cheap plastic wheels. They work perfectly fine inside a home or apartment. I tried to roll this vacuum cleaner across asphault so I could vacuum my car once, and the wheels did not appear to be having a good time. If you want to go out and vacuum your car with this, you really should pick it up and carry it.Thirdly, the big, clear mini-vacuum hose attachment that's reminiscent of the of the little mouth of a xenomorph is absolutely useless. At no point has it ever worked better for any task than the little black hose attachment on the back. When it's not being used, it sits in its little mounting bracket on top of the unit like a little crown. Am I really supposed to crown my otherwise pretty amazing vacuum cleaner with this worthless attachment?Fourthly, the mounting point for the actually sometimes useful hose attachment around the back isn't terribly great. Sometimes the attachment can pop off the vacuum, which is mildly inconvenient. Why can't this attachment be the crown upon my kingly unit? Why does it have to live in shame behind the unit, obscured by the power chord?Fifthly, it is just a touch on the heavy side. This isn't too much of a problem when vacuuming, but carrying it around could be undesirable.Overall, I would much rather have this Hoover than my Dyson. I love this vacuum cleaner.
