Smooth application, excellent pigment.
As an artist, I have every brand of paint, but nothing beats Winsor Newton. As the years pass, some tubes get hard and only with a palette knife, will the paint be malleable. Other times, the oil separates from the pigment and makes a mess. But with WN, I never have that problem. Juicy, great pigment, never separates and very reasonably priced. There colors are consistent, coverage is great, and goes on smoothly. As I replace old, used tubes, I gravitate to this brand.

Best Standard Oil Paint
Out of the hundreds of premium oil paints I have purchased from around the world, Winsor & Newton has never failed to meet my expectations. W&N oil paint is certainly not the highest quality, and depending on one’s perspective, there may be several points of criticism. However, W&N’s strength lies in the consistency of its quality. There are, of course, other premium brands made with higher-grade materials that W&N does not offer, but to me, W&N is the most standard, good-value paint. It can be manipulated easily and broadly, and depending on the technique and the mediums mixed with it, its performance can match or even exceed that of others.

Fabulous paint brand
I really dig the consistency and texture of the oils with WN paints. I used to rely heavily on Gamblin, but am slowly switching over. Great paints!

Every manufacturer has a star. This one is Winsors.
I don't like Winsor and Newton. I don't like the inconsistent textures and their cadmium colors are garbage with garbage in them! However, they have their winners. I get tickled at Brits because when they learn Spanish, for example, they try and brand it, like they invented it. Same with their paints, which are made in France, by the way.Gamblin is a better brand across the board. However, there is always going to be the fact that "some pigments" just don't radiate with the painter so, you end up brand agnostic. With Winsor, you get an artist grade amount of pigment AND, to be honest and fair, I have Winsor tubes which stayed cooled and out of light for 8 years and they are as fresh as the day I bought them. However, the tube caps disintegrate over time. This pigment temperature is perfect. It's a little dull for my liking but, it mixes very well. It is "correct" magenta, where Gamblin is too red and Rembrandt needs to go back to school and study MAGENTA! The texture of this tube is perfect because it's a synthetic organic dye. My only complaint is the slight dullness but the color, the actual color MAGENTA, this is. Mixes amazingly with dioxazine, thalos and Benzo and other organics. Makes some really "OMG" mixes! The price could be higher and is with everyone else.
