When you apply the "Arctic Silver 5" you just need a little dab. You don't want it running over the edges on to the Socket & MoBo. You've made a good choice. Can I use this for my PS 4?

Well i use it on my ps3 slim with no problems. I dont see why it wouldnt work on your ps4. I have a ps4 too but haven't changed the thermal paste yet
