Works perfectly for me
I’ve had this lock almost three years now, and it works perfectly for me. I have the most basic version (because I don’t need to unlock my house from another state, thanks) and have had no problems whatsoever. It detects my phone and unlocks when I approach. I can lock or unlock from the app, as long as I’m within range. The fingerprint reader works great for me. Can’t speak for the keypad, as I’ve never used it.I can see how the battery life would be a concern for some, because it will be heavily dependent on how you use it. I mostly unlock/lock it manually from inside the house, so the battery life on my unit will be much longer than someone who works it differently. I’ve had to change the batteries twice (not counting the original set installed with the unit initially) in nearly three years.I like it enough that I’m anxiously waiting for my Yale keypad deadbolt on my front door to fail so I can replace with another Ultraloq. The Yale has also performs perfectly, but I love the biometric/bluetooth capability of this one.

Durable, well made, great customer support
I own 3 units and they are reliable, easy to install and program.I did have an issue with one of the fingerprint readers. I called tech support and after some troubleshooting they sent me a new fingerprint reader with detailed instructions.The replacement unit fixed part of the problem. I reached tech support again and they suggested a software update. The update fixed the remaining issues and now works perfectly.

Perfect with one exception
Mostly like the device, but the fingerprint reader never seems to work.

Fingerprint reader is awful
Fingerprint reader doesn't work. When first installed, it worked - then it stopped working. I called U-tec customer support, they where helpful, had me delete the settings and re-program, then it worked again and now stopped working. The combination works fine but If you're buying it for fingerprint reader, look elsewhere. I'm sending it back.

Unbelievably great customer service!
Through no error of the device, but my own human errors, I was completely frustrated. I expected to be on hold forever, and even then not be able to speak to a helpful, knowledgeable human - boy was I wrong.Got the number straight away from the website, got a human on the second ring. Fixed everything right away.I made another error, and this second guy, Ahmed, went above and beyond fixing my error from his end, then making sure all my firmware was updated - and even called me back when my connection went out. Stayed on to make sure it was good, and called back to confirm the firmware update went through - unbelievable in this day and age.Maaaan, I wish customer service everywhere was this good. Really great product, but the customer service and people like Mostafa and Ahmed made me an Ultraloq customer for life. Excellent, and wonderful service!

Cool product
Love this lock. I just use the combo portion of the lock and not fingerprint feature but never have any issues with it. I like that it automatically locks behind me so I don't have to worry about my kids locking the front door! Nice product. I was able to install myself so set up is super easy.

easy to install but app didn't identify right kind of lock & customer service is non-existent
I've had my eye on this lock for a while, ever since I saw it on Indiegogo. I especially liked the idea of having multiple ways to unlock a door, and I especially liked the idea of the fingerprint technology involved. Installing the lock was fairly easy. I'd never installed a lock before, and I'm not mechanically inclined at all, but the instructions (with pictures) made it easy to take the existing deadbolt off the door and replace it with this lock. The only real issue I had was when I had the back-plate of the indoor part of the lock backwards, but once I figured out that I had it facing the wrong direction, the rest was a cinch. Downloading the app from the App Store wasn't an issue, and setting up an account from the app was fine. My only issue with setting up the account is that the password didn't require special characters and wouldn't let you add special characters. I was able to pair the lock with the app, but when I went to set up the fingerprint, it didn't have that option. It was then that I realized that the app thought the lock was the regular U-Bolt and not the Pro. Deleting everything and starting over didn't solve the issue. Very unsatisfying to spend so much time being excited over fingerprint tech on a door lock and then not being able to use it once you get it. And the worse part of it all is the customer service. When you call the number and you are on hold for a number of minutes, and then it bumps you into a voice inbox for you to leave a message. it doesn't ask if you want to do this, and it doesn't give you the option of remaining in the queue for an associate to help you. Honestly, seems like a good way to just never need to actually interact with customers and deal with their issues. I left a message, and I still haven't received a call-back. Today, I submitted a "ticket," from their website describing the issue and I included pictures so they could see what I was looking at when I try setting the lock up in the app. We shall see if this works to get through to somebody. If not, then I will be returning it and will probably scour the internet for another lock that has the features that I want. So far, extremely disappointed. I would have been inclined to give it more than 3 stars if the customer service had been more responsive because I had hopes that the lock would be everything I thought it would be.
