All you will need.
Better than most. This charger has the capability to test for battery capacity as well as charge batteries. The charge current is adjustable in steps .5, 1, and 1.5 amps. slow charge is easier on the battery. It keeps temp down as well. It does take up to 12 hours to charge and discharge a battery for a capacity test. the bigger the battery the longer it will take. I am satisfied with this equipment.

Nice little device!
Does a lot of things. It’s expensive, but so far does what they said it would. I like the battery conditioning, never had the feature before, already brought several batteries back to useful life. Able to charge 4 batteries AND a power bank off the USB port all at the same time. Sure could use better instructions, most of my info I had to get on online forums.

XTAR Dragon VP4L Plus Charger Review
So, I finally got my hands on the XTAR Dragon VP4L Plus Charger, and boy, it's like the Swiss Army knife of battery chargers! First off, let’s talk about its four slots – it’s like having a mini parking lot for your batteries. Need to charge your 14500s, 18650s, or even the big ol’ 32650s? No problem! This bad boy’s got you covered. Now, let’s get into the fun stuff. This charger isn’t just a charger; it’s an analyzer, tester, and all-around battery whisperer. I popped in my trusty AAAs and it was like they were having a spa day – getting pampered and rejuvenated. It even made my C and D batteries feel young again. I’m convinced this thing has magical powers. The display is super user-friendly. I mean, who doesn’t love a good light show while their batteries get juiced up? It’s got all the info you need – voltage, capacity, internal resistance – it’s like a battery geek’s dream come true. I felt like a scientist in my own home lab!Oh, and did I mention it handles 11.1V / 3S battery packs like a champ? I used it on one of my RC car packs, and it was like giving my car a turbo boost. Other users are raving about this feature too – one guy even said his RC car now runs like it’s on rocket fuel. I can’t make this stuff up!But the real kicker? It’s super intelligent. I left it on overnight (oops) and it automatically stopped charging when the batteries were full. No more waking up to batteries hotter than my morning coffee. To sum it up, if you’ve got a collection of batteries that need some TLC, the XTAR Dragon VP4L Plus Charger is your new best friend. It’s smart, versatile, and makes you feel like a battery-charging wizard. Trust me, you need this in your life – your batteries will thank you!

To specification
Works well, could be more robust construction, a bit expensive.

Uncommon Feature: Internal Resistance Measurement
INTERNL RESISTANCEThe XTAR Dragon VP4 Plus Charger has an internal resistance measurement feature that I find useful. As my rechargeables age, my POWEREX MAHA MH-C9000 smart charger notifies me of high resistance cells, but it's bininary, either go or no-go. The XTAR dispalys the internal resistance of the cells, allowing me to sort the cells, and earmark the low resistance cells for high current output uses. The high resistance cells earmarked for low current output, such as computer mouse.PROBESThe "Pogo-Stick" probes for the resistance measurement are very high quality. The contacts are spring-loaded, and corregated to insure the probes make good contact with the cell. Further, the probes use a 4-wire USB to connection to compensate for the resistance of the probes. The insulation on the test probes appear to be silicon based, ensuring flexibility and long life. Definitely high quality.MODESUnlike my MH-C9000 which can simultaneously have differnt modes in each of the 4 slots, you are forced to use the same mode simultaneously in all 4 slots on the XTAR. Not a big problem for my use, but could be for others that might want to charge, and analyze at the same time.ANTI-FAKEThere is a anti-counterfit 16-digit code on the scratch-off label on the box, that you can input on the XTAR website, for authenticity verification.LONGEVITYThe 2-year warranty should cover early failures. I have not used the XTAR long enough to comment on the longevity of the unit. I have been using the XTAR VP2 for many years, charging my 18650s. Never had any problems with the VP2, and can attest to it's longevity. I expect the same quality and longevity in the VP4 Plus.USER MANUALThe user manual is pretty much worthless. There are several websites and YouTube channels that will give you better guidance on how-to-use, than the meager user manual included with the unit. And, contrary to some Amazon postings, the current model does not include a warranty card. For a detailed review on the many features of the XTAR Dragon VP4 Plus Charger, there is a website that can be searched for "lygte-info". The author drills down into testing all the features of the VP4 Plus. Overall, a good price-point for a fully-featured smart charger.
