2006 LR3 - PERFECT FIT
Before I get into details, let me tell you, this is the housing only, no gaskets are included, so make sure you get your gaskets also.My thermostat EXPLODED....yes, exploded....and all of that happened, bc of the shop I took it to last, to get my oil change and asked them to check into the lack of heat inside the truck. No problem, all fixed, the shop mgr tells me 3 hrs later....you were low on coolant. I know nothing about cooling systems, and since heat worked, I assumed it was fixed, and I was happy. Until about 2 months ago, I noticed lack of power and increased temperature on gauge, and suddenly the truck overheats. I take foot off gas pedal and -bam-, temp goes down. And I literally coast to where I'm heading. No heat inside, and truck behaves normally when sitting still and running. This went on for a few days and each time I get out of truck, I smell antifreeze....and anyone ever having dealt with it knows the distinct smell of antifreeze. I waited for nice weather, and took her apart. As I took housing off, the thermostat almost jumped into my face. The darn thing exploded and busted to pieces. I then took a look at the coolant color....blue'ish ????? WTH is THAT ????? So, to make a long story short, shop mixed coolants, and the didnt agree with one another. LR takes pink color, he added Green which gave me a blue'ish color....ridiculous, really. So, I got the thermostat, the housing, gaskets, and a WATER PUMP, bc it cracked from the overheating too.....and while I had her all opened up, I got some spark plugs as well. Anyways, the housing is a PRECISE fit for my 2006 LR3 and now she's got heat inside, and not overheating outside. This housing works like a champ and was not very difficult to install. And just for the record, I am a woman....not a pro as far as mechanics r concerned, but with the help of some tutorials online, I was able to do this on my own, and got her back running in tip top shape ! I give this item a 5 * rating, bc it fits and it works ! Just be sure to get your gaskets !! Learn from this...NEVER MIX COOLANTS !!!

Direct fit.
Installed in my 4.4 lr3. My only gripe is the thermostat opens 15 degrees before it should. My temp gauge never gets to the perfect operating temp but I get no codes or leaks so I'm happy.

Perfect fit on 2008 LR3
It went on seamlessly. Seemed equivalent to original, which started leaking at 216,000 miles. I have put a couple of thousand miles with no issues. I would recommend it.Now at 260 k miles with no issues.

Good price, but defective part:(
Perfect fit to my truck. It was also convenient that it was all put together for us and came with the gaskets and all. But the thermostat that was included in the housing was defective and needed to be replaced with an OEM thermostat. My truck wouldn't blow heat and would go into the red on the temperature guage before the thermostat would pop open and it was a pain to change the thermostat!

Poor quality and caused other issues
I tried to save money and buy a clone instead of the original equipment, $30 and next day vs $180+ and waiting a week. The fitment was poor, the tabs that align the housing to the engine block broke off and caused a poor seal to the engine block, but I installed and let it be. I could smell antifreeze after each outing but could not find any leaks. After a couple months of use, the LR3 finally overheated and also blew several hoses. Once I removed the cheap thermostat housing, I found evidence of the gaskets or housing had melted into the water pump and the engine block, causing a backup and eventually overheated the truck.

Well, that was sudden
Bought the part in November, it failed by December. On the plus side, seller refunded the purchase price. On the (huge) negative side, now I get to buy another and pay the mechanic to remove the old one and install a new one. That's twice the part cost, paid twice. Sigh.Net loss to me.Avoid. Bite the (rather expensive) bullet and go with OEM. It'll save you big wrench charges in the long run.
