This product is as advertised: a true 8 strand, 3-ply, nylon based 550 paracord. It has a noticeable heft when compared to a commercial grade, 7 strand, 2-ply 550 cord and I have no reason to doubt that it meets the mil spec requirements as claimed.Also noticed that it requires more effort to cut this cord than a lesser grade 550 cord and would highly recommend that a very sharp cutting implement be used to maintain fidelity of the cut ends. My first cuts were made with a good blade typically used to successfully cut commercial cord and although it made the cuts, the ends of this product frayed wildly. When I used a finer bladed knife honed to razor sharpness, the cuts held together and required less clean up before cauterizing the ends. Similar results were achieved with a high quality pair of fabric shears.Overall I am pleased with this paracord and would buy it again. Being made in the U.S. is also a big plus and if you are looking for a more substantial 550 paracord than that typically found at your local sporting goods store, I do not think you will be disappointed with this product.

Bought black to relace a corsette, which worked fine.03/21/2016 update:After trying out the black, bought a white one to replace a ribbon on a white corset, and the item arrived with minor damage on the outer part of the roll which resembled it being caught in some gears. Was still able to use inner part for my needs, however when the seller heard about the damage I got a replacement item without even asking for it.A a side note, I used damaged part of string to wrap around a side table leg, and my kitty uses it as a scratch post, she seems to like it, after about month it is still going strong, I didn't expect it to last this long, quality product and good customer service :)

Good quality paracord. Has 8 strands in the middle as it states. I use it for all kinds of things. I keep a roll of it in my get home/ bug out bag. I've used it on vacation to secure my cooler to the back of a golf cart while driving around an island. I've used it to wrap around the handle of a hatchet for better grip. Used it to secure a thermal imaging camera to my bunker gear before going into a structure fire. It has a ton of uses only limited by your knowledge/ imagination. Only gave it 4 stars due to finding it much cheaper in other stores.

There is such a difference between real, legitimate, authentic paracord (MIL-C-5040H compliant) and the pretenders. When you hold it, twist it, pull it, roll it between your fingers: it's just feels so much better than the pretenders. You can even tell the difference when you cut it and burn the ends. Attached are a couple of micro images showing a cut and subsequent burn of the end. I have a lot of bags, etc., with the other stuff that will be changed out with this paracord.FWIW: I ordered the 55 foot length hank of 8-strand cord and upon inspection found not a single flaw in the entire length. This is the real deal and will purchase more.

Used on my AK Underfolder to lessen the cheek weld impact. Then I wrapped the paracord with camo wrap (wide non-stick tape like product). This definitely did the job and looks professional.

I am not a military man or a survivalist/hunter/prepper/outdoorsman. But I do know this is a quality product and got the impression this was made by a company that cares. I understand it is veteran owned. So thank you for your service and for my outstanding product.

I use this for hanging my bird feeders. It is strong, sturdy, and easy to untie when I need to take a feeder down. Doesn't get moldy, doesn't rot, doesn't fray. I love this stuff.
