Excellent product! In my opinion having a pomade like this is an essential men’s hair product. I have medium length thick, coarse, wavy hair that can be very unruly and difficult to tame. This product keeps everything neat, tidy, tight, and in place. Keeps the hairstyle in place for the day and has great lasting power. My style is more of pompadour/classic quiff and this pomade helps cut back on styling time with its strong hold. The smell is very masculine and pleasant without being overpowering. It does have a higher shine which I think enhances the style I’m going for and gives it a more polished look. I found that it is possible to decrease the level of shine by simply blow drying. I’m using both this and redken brews (medium hold/natural shine), while both are great products, this pomade gets the job done better for what I’m looking for and my hair texture as opposed to the Redken. Definitely recommend Uppercut’s deluxe pomade!

I have thick wavy hair. I have found that uppercut holds and styles my hair perfectly. I usually apply uppercut after showering. I apply uppercut by just taking a minimal amount on 2 fingers and rubbing it together in my hands. I then rub the product through my hair and style it. I have found it takes up to 3 applications to completely cover my hair. Uppercut has a sweet “honey whiskey” like smell that is not overpowering. The hold lasts all day. Uppercut pomade is my go to and seems like it will last a good while. I will definitely purchase this product in the future and highly recommend!

Works well. Smells good. Really like how is water based, but has good hold for most of the day.

Good for that shine hold!

So as I started to write this review I noticed that the reviews on Amazon apply to both the Deluxe and Monster Hold Pomades.While it's not as strong as I wish it was, I love the Deluxe version. After it dries it leaves a crisp hold to it which keeps your hair where it needs to be but can be easily brushed out with your hand. I just wish it had a tiny bit more hold to it. The other thing I love with the Deluxe is that it's completely water soluble and washes out VERY nicely, where as most other products I've used in the past (the ones with any noticeable hold) leave a residue even after a thorough washing.Ok, so that said, the Monster Pomade is not to my liking. It has a very waxy feel to it, similar to the Hemp styling paste I used before when I had shorter hair (probably a better product for that hairstyle), and it DOES NOT wash out that easily. It definitely has a MUCH stronger hold than the Deluxe, but I really don't like the rough waxy texture... I hope that review helps clarify some fine details about the Deluxe vs Monster Hold pomade by Uppercut - kinda wish I had known this before I ordered the Monster Hold. UPDATE: It seems like Amazon finally separated the two listings, but I thought I would just leave this part up since I already wrote about it, and people should at least know the difference between the two.My tip on keeping it FRESH: So I live in a rather humid environment in Hawaii, and I don't use a lot of the pomade every day, so the container lasts me at least 3-4 months. Obviously I'm opening it on a daily basis, so moisture gets into the container and onto the product. What I noticed that if I kept the styrofoam insert, which is usually attached to the inside of the lid, over time the pomade stays more "fresh", as opposed to when I used to throw the insert away, which resulted in the product getting super sticky and gooey. Your milage may vary on this, but I've actually tested two out over a period of four months, and the one with the foam insert left on the inside of the lid stayed noticeably more "fresh", as opposed to the other one that started getting more and more gooey over time.

Very nice pomade! Easy to wash. It does dry my hair out a lot though, and ut doesn't have too much of a hold unless if you glop a lot of it on. But overall nice and no stinky smell either. Nice can design and feel too.

I stumbled on this product on a recommendation from Reddit. Previously using Reuzel (light blue tin) and wanted to try something new as I didn’t appreciate how it often clumped together and/or felt sticky.This in comparison provides the same amount of hold, but is easier to work with (short, thick hair) and looks more natural IMO.I’m not a huge fan of the smell (I’d call it “coconut stripclub”) and would appreciate a less synthetic scent (pine/fir/oak maybe?), but I’m more concerned with overall functionality.

Smells good, smooth and easy to scoop out and smear on your hands. Holds all day, easy to wash out and the tin opens and closes relatively easily. It’s quite a bit of product for the price so I’d say it’s worth it. It’s on my list of some of the better pomades I’ve tried. I’ll likely buy it again.
