Definitely for small bird only. I would not go any bigger than a budgie on this one. It was easy enough to attach, I would measure your doorway before purchasing to make sure it'll fit. Fiddling with the screw took some finesse that is lost on me apparently, and since it left my door potentially open for little escape artists I had to secure the door with a clip or something similar. Otherwise, it took the birds a while to get used to it, but they did eventually come to realize food comes out of it regularly. I needed to entice them with millet but they got it eventually. It was good for me to use when I knew I was going to be out of the house for the weekend, and it kept the birds fed.

PLEASE NOTE DESCRIPTION INCORRECT-Advantage: this feeder can be fixed on the internal or external of the cage.This is an external mount feeder only. Many of the other sellers with essentially the same feeder have added hooks to allow for internal mounting, not this one.I needed these ASAP, placed order they arrived within 18 hours! But they were not going to work as sent. I modified them via home made hooks, washer and nut/bolt. If you need to do this take care the bend of the hooks is identical for each pair and that they are placed to allow the feeder to hang evenly. I actually used 4 of the hooks/attachment clips off of ID lanyards.I gave a 5 star for the easy to remove question as mine being modified are quite easy to remove. The button attachment provide looked to be a challenge.I am pleased with these feeders, wished they had had the hooks to begging with but not an unsolvable problem.

I purchased this for my Zebra finches. They are sort of notorious for flitting and flying around their cage and spreading cage debris outside of the cage. I didn't realize it had two separate compartments, bonus. I'm transitioning them from a seed blend to a better pelleted, crumble type diet. By having the two compartments, I have both foods available and can easily view if they are eating both foods, which they are. The tray catches most of the waste, which I recycle to the wild birds to finish up. All seed eaters will pick out their favorite seed and leave or move out of their feeder, the seed they don't want to eat. This is what ends up in the catch tray and the wild birds devour in seconds! Once connected to the door, I fixed it in place with the screw and washer provided. There really isn't any reason to remove it once in place. The catch tray is easy to remove and replace and the feeder is filled from the top. It's a very nice design and I have no reservations recommending this feeder. My birds took to it very quickly.

This is a GREAT feeder, but be sure to keep an eye on it. After awhile, it gets clogged with seed somehow and will end up starving your bird if you aren’t checking on it! When you clean their cage, COMPLETELY empty out the feeder to make sure nothing is stuck. Sounds silly, but it’s an easy thing to miss when you think the feeder is working perfectly.

This is working out pretty well for our Quaker parrot and his pelletized food. As other reviewers have noted, the front fasteners are too narrow to fit over the bars of our cage. I had to use zip ties to hold it in place. Which won't be a problem as long as I don't need to remove it often for cleaning. Wish the opening was maybe a little larger, but all in all it is reducing food waste.

We have several parakeets and this has been a great product. We have one parakeet that really likes to stand in the food - and we have tried multiple feeders - and it will kick the seed like a dog scratching at the ground. This feeder has been great! However, Sir Albert has still managed to figure out how to stand and scratch the seed out of the feeder and onto the ground! I do like how the feeder can attach to small or larger cages. We have a flight cage and it is a perfect size and easy to attach. There are no screws to fiddle with. It is easy to clean as well.

Bought this to feed my cockatiel while Im out for a couple of days but after tested it to see if do it’s work I have to say I’m very pleased. I’m happy I found a great feeder at last. No problems to install it and bird went right to it. Birds can be messy but this feeder minimize the mess a lot. I did make a modification to it since the sunflowers seeds on cockatiel food can get stuck making the flow difficult. With that been said, I won’t recommend it if your bird only eats that kind of seeds. But for every other bird that eats the small seeds, this feeder it’s amazing.

Love this! I had gone through 2 other brands if this type of feeder. They were clear plexiglass and people kept walking by the cage and breaking them . This one doesn’t stick out as far from the cage. Gave this one a try. I was nervous my zebra finches wouldn’t be able to reach the food. They have no problems and no more mess! I’m very happy.
