Will i just be able to plug it into my sannce security camera system and itll work automatically or do i have to program it first?

Need to depends on you system (NVR). Professional security system like Long Plus or CST they have to secure program (data lock) to prevent data stealing. If you have a DVR that without data lock. Then everyone can easily pull out your record if they have your hard drive.

My nvr does have ports for a hdd Dvr but this seagate does not come this to connect? What’s the deal

For his type HDD your DVR must have an SATA connection it will not connect to an IDE. ED
