Arc International Luminarc Canterbury Mug, 10-Ounce, Set of 12

My experience is a story: I had purchased just five mugs of the same Canterbury Mug over 20 years ago! At that time, I also bought service for-four of the matching bread and butter plates, dinner plates and 10 bowls. I bought whatever was left of these items as "open-stock" in the "Cellar" section of the basement of housewares in Macy's Department Store of New York City, and still own them! I gave a set of the four mugs, however, as a gift to my son and daughter-in-law at the time, when I bought them separately. The lovely glass designs are very useful in serving whatever I prepared for my growing family, and when entertaining family members and friends at our house. All the items retained their luster, and still look "good as new!" I notice that the ones that I had purchased then had a grey hue, while the bowls and mugs I recently bought at Amazon.com, are completely clear, without any hue; which I think is more preferable. I didn't realize that there was a difference in color, until I compared the newly-bought cups/mugs to the mug I have owned all these years. The mugs are easy to clean after each use. No odor or stain can attach itself to this glass either.I marvel over the fact that none of these glass items ever got broken, though they accidently got dropped occasionally! To this day, I still make excellent use of them, but now, I am happy to say, I found these Canterbury glass-designed bowls and mugs/cups and bowls to buy more of at Amazon.com! For years, I have been "on-the-look-out" for them when shopping in stores and online. The bowls are great for salads, soups, and deserts. In addition, I have also purchased these great mugs and bowls from Amazon.com for family members and friends. Of course, I also bought a dozen more of these mugs for my son and daughter-in-law to use for their growing family and for when I visit with them. They certainly make a welcome bridal gift as well. Thank you for this oopportunity to express my delight over the Canerbury Mugs.

We really like these everyday glasses; not meant to be used for a big drink, perhaps morning juice or a couple sips of a beverage, and definitely not meant for a tall and/or large man to use regularly, very nicely made, I really recommend them.

Beautiful set, found replacement for set lost in fire. Great that design is still available!

Purchased for my parents and they love them. They were given compliments as well. They are sturdy, and hold the right amount of tea or coffee.

I don't like these cups. They are not as attractive as the plates and they are so small you could only drink coffee out of them..

They would get five stars if they'd also make a 15 or 16 oz. (14 oz min.) extra LARGE mug for today's big coffee gulpers. Hey, a larger mug would also serve as a beer or root beer mug and would hold other large summer cold drinks. The design and quality of these plates, and bowls is excellent. They are thin and light so very stack-able and easy to handle and elegant. I, too, had some very old mugs from so far back I can't remember when I got them, but they've been with me many, many years - more than 30. They were around when my kids, now in mid 40s, were growing up. I, too, was utterly surprised to find the exact same pattern, with everything the same, currently selling at Bed, Bath & Beyond, so I picked up a few complementary pieces and confirmed they match and fit together perfectly - even the mugs. The old are distinguishable from the new. Obviously, they are a great choice for longevity. I only wish they'd make a larger mug for today's preference. I know my grown children, myself, and other folks I drink coffee, teas, and cocoa with prefer much larger mugs. These mugs are suitable as juice glasses or when you don't want a big drink like when you have water or milk before bedtime. An extra note is the dinner plates are a nice large size and the gentle upward curves on all the plates helps prevent spillage especially from sauces and gravies. Everything stays in the plate. Really Nice. Just need to offer some larger mugs to complement these plates.

The cups wash well and feel good in my hands. I don't see any downside.
