Nice fountain pen!
A nice affordable fountain pen. Available in different colors; I choose green. It writes fine; I had no skips or blots. I would purchase another if I needed.

This Dryden pen is pretty good. Ink flow is good. Cartridge snapped in well. Weight is good. Good value for the cost. Works well. Pleased with the purchase.

Comparable to my Cross... better on some ways!
First of all, this pen has a great feel and balance! In most ways, it is comprable to my Cross pens, and in a couple of ways, it is even better!First of all, this pen has a body and cap that are made of metal. Not only does this benefit the feel and balance of the fountain pen, but it is a lot more durable then my Cross pens are, which are made of plastic. I have actually broken the end of my Cross pens a couple of times, one time through droppage, and the others through normal use.The other advantage is that Dryden does not use exclusive proprietary design like Cross does, for their cartridges. This means that you could easily source replacement ink, rather than having to spend three times as much for the Cross brand. As for the performance, the fountain pen is well-balanced, and the body feels great between my fingertips. Flow is consistent and smooth, the pen itself is easy to prime, installation of the cartridge it's very secure, and the quality of Dryden ink is comprable to any top-tier brand. The ink holds true to it's color, the color is bold and vivid, and dries fairly fast (which is a particularly appreciated benefit to me, being left-handed).And while Cross includes a gift box as well, the gift box included with my Dryden fountain pen is much better quality! The Cross is just a thin cardboard box that has a ribbon which retains the pen, and a lid that lifts off. Dryden has a heavyweight box with a spring hinge (much the same as a jewelry box), with use and a nice velvet-lined foam insert that specifically holds the pen in place.I've been a user of Cross pins all of my life, but had I know in about Dryden, I would have used them exclusively, long ago. It isn't often that you get a much better quality for a much better price, and while the Cross name has long been synonymous with quality, I believe the Dryden has honestly stolen the top-tier a fountain pens from the long renowned cross brand. My only gripe is that they do not seem to offer any nib wider than a medium. As a calligrapher, I would love to see a broad, BB, or bent-nib option for more dramatic results, however, this is typical, as most fountain pen manufacturers only offer a medium nib as their widest option.Additional notes: Converter is included with the pen.

Great pen
It was a gift for my mother, she hadn't had a fountain pen since she was a young girl in the 1950s. Great design, works great, etc. If I could suggest a design change, maybe have the cap screw on and off. The is the one part my mother had problem with. She is 85 yrs old and trying to pull the cap off for the first time was hard. It is just a suggestion. Otherwise everything was perfect!!PS. I pulled the cap off several times and I think it made it come off a little more easier.

Beautiful writer!
This pen is beautiful. It has a nice weight to it that makes it obvious that it’s well made. More importantly, it writes like a dream. The nib is beautiful as well. Highly recommended.

Leaks badly and Amazon Returns charges $7.99 to return it.
After a thankfully very mild stroke my handwriting because illegible. So, I purchased this pen and several cursive writing workbooks to address this problem. Spent some time comparing pens and this one seemed like a quality product for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, before I had used up the first ink cartridge it started leaking, badly. All the fittings were tight, but it was occasionally, after about 5 - 10 minutes of use, releasing a large blob of ink through the nib onto the paper and my fingers.Being optimistic and hoping it was a problem with this particular item, I proceeded to the Amazon process of replacing it. Then I found Amazon no longer picks up return items for free, I'm a prime member by the way. So, pen cost $28.27 and I'm being charged $7.99 for it to be picked up for return. I'm a 74-year-old disabled veteran living on SS and a Disability Pension with no working car and no bus service and an Uber to the nearest UPS office would cost about $24. Until recently Amazon did return pickups for free, now I'm being charge by Amazon to pick up a defective item they sold. This is outrageous. Wanted to share.

It Could Have Done Better
I wanted to wait to review this pen after I have tried it out for a while and overall, I have to say that I am disappointed. I will start with the positives. The pen is beautifully crafted. It writes wonderfully, is easy to hold and makes writing something as simple as a shopping list feel luxurious. The design and little details such as the company name on it is amazing. I have even gotten a fair share of compliments when using this pen! I have written with it for hours without my hand cramping like it would with a traditional pen or pencil. The pen is beautifully and solidly built for the most part. But a major problem for me and other customers here, is the ink. As you can see from my pictures, it leaks quite a lot. Sometimes even randomly. It hasn't been a one time occasion either. I would hold the pen and randomly see ink smears on my hand and palm. When I even took off the cap, the nib would be almost drenched in ink to the point where I would have to get a napkin and pat most of it away. I emailed the CEO personally and told him about the problem. I will give him props, he gave me tips and pointers on how to fix the issue. I did the steps he suggested, but the ink afterwards had trouble flowing to the nib. The problem stopped for a few days, but then reappeared. Too much ink would flow out of the pen at times when I write and leave the nib and my hands covered with ink.The pen is wonderful in all honesty. It makes writing a joy to do, but with it's ink flowing problems, I would have to give it 3 stars. The design saved it from being 2. At this price point, the pen isn't worth it. Do I regret my choice in buying it? Not really. Like I said, it writes well and looks amazing. The company just needs to fix this ink problem.
