Strathmore toned Sketch Spiral Paper Pad 5.5-inch x 8.5-inch,Gray

I've been converted to using Strathmore paper since last year. It really is a beautifully made paper, it is not too smooth and not too textured, very well balanced. It works so well with charcoal and white chalk, the drawings sort come "come out' by themselves. It is also affordable.

This tone is perfect for achieving many values ​​very easily (with white or black pencils for contrast). The fibrous appearance of the paper gives it a personal touch. It has the perfect size of a sketchbook that can be included in an art portfolio or be presented at universities. The paper is quite thin but it doesn't bother me too much. Even though it is suitable for pencils, I also used other media, ink, watercolors, acrylics and oil (after I primed the paper with an acrylic gesso fist). Great value for money. I would buy it again.

Strathmore have the best toned paper. The paper take’s pastel well, not too much pastel but enough to produce a beautiful photo. I have these on repeat order

Excellent value, handy size, quality grey tone paper. Ideal for use with my coloured pencils.

Paper was thinner than expected which was worrying at first as I thought it be tear or rip if I erased too much. Luckily this was not the case. I was able to use the eraser a lot and the paper dented a bit with sharper pencils, but did not tear and the colour of paper did not fade when erasing.The paper is smooth, and the grey tone does have little flecks of darker or lighter grey but that's what I expected. So far I have been using WHS water colour pencils on the paper but haven't applied any water yet since I doubt it will be study enough for that. But the colours go on nice and vibrant, although pale colours seem to fade a bit but still looks good.I would recomend to anyone wanting to experiment with coloured paper. It is ideal for both monochrome and coloured works.Delivery arrived on time which was nice.

I actually use those for pastel painting on holidays. Shear for sketches!

This is probably the best paper I’ve used!I definitely recommend. I find a lot of people not trying out toned paper simply because it’s not the usual white, and I was like that too. But the first time I used it, I was super amazed! I do wish that the paper was a bit thicker (for example, for sharpies, poscas, etc.) but if you’re used to mixed media or craft paper, I can definitely see you liking this product.

Good paper, erases well, the tone I was expecting cool grey but it is actually quite warm. It has little flakes of kraft toned paper in it that makes it more interesting. Very smooth so pencils glide in it. Also used (warm grey) copics in it, they blend well but place a paper below the sheet because it is not too thick paper and it goes over the page.
