Works great with little effort. Very smooth and quality. Just mind placement of fret, because It will snip whatever is in the snipping zone.

The newer Stew Mac fret tang nippers are comfortable and easy to use. Well worth the price! Very good construction.

I've been a StewMAX member for years, meaning I pay extra to get free shipping from Stewart Macdonald's official website. Sometimes I get exclusive deals, but I've NEVER see this item as cheap as it was here on Amazon. I'm sort of disappointed my Amazon Prime membership does better than StewMAX, but this was an item I had on my list for years and never pulled the trigger. It works just as described, and it's helping me a lot with my first fret job. I've been winding pickups for 10 years, and have been doing fret levels for a few years, so doing a refret is my next step. Having the right tools goes a long way, and this seems to be a must-have tool.

Very accurate, crisp cut. Very little remaining tang that can be ignored with good results, or, just a couple file passes to eliminate it all.

Cuts frets easily. Pricey but does the job.

It was hard to pull the trigger on this tool but I'm so glad I did. If you're using regular nippers or a grinding wheel (or disc sander like I was) or whatever, and just not super happy with the results. Just get this tool. It's SO much better. Cuts perfectly and easily.
