Works well for me
I have had a set of Kyocera knives for about 5 years and they had lost their original sharpness. Kyocera will sharpen your knives for free but by the time you pay for shipping both ways this looked like the best option. The knives I have are 7", 5" and 3" long and the only one that I cannot get the full length sharpened is the 3". On that one I was able to get about 1/2 of the length sharpened. The other two were able to be sharpened on the whole length. It was easy and took only a short time and it really made a difference. I think it was well worth the purchase.

Good price
Definitely need this to sharpen my Kyocera knives. The price is much cheaper than retailer, good buy!

Sadly, it fails to meet even modest expectations.
With a brand new set of _good_ batteries, the motor could hardly turn the sharpening wheel which stalled when any blade was put into the sharpening slot. I couldn't get it to sharpen anything adequately. My steel works much, much better. Very disappointing. I really hoped for something great, like other Kyocera products that I have used (e.g. laser printers, etc.) or bought (e.g. ceramic knife).

Really needs some power
This device is too underpowered to use, and frequently the wheels will bind up, especially on the left slot (sharpening the right side) for some reason, maybe because the bottom guide is too deep there or something. Either way, not so great to sharpen. It does seem to get there for the angle and technology, but it's very hard to work the right side of blades well. Also, the thinness of the grooves ensures only thin knives can go in, regardless of steel or ceramic.
