After you get used to the fitting of it and the placement of the phone and the phone connector in the side its a great addition for when its bright sunlight, only niggle is trying to get to some screen icons on the DJI Go Fly app screen. It’s well made and fits together a treat with the magnetic flaps, I cut the small flap off where it goes into the phone as it was proving a right pain in the bum!! lol. But overall a good purchase if a little pricey but the good outweighs the negatives, would I recommend it? Yes.

I bought to use with iPhone 12 Pro Max and Mavic Mini 2 controller as an aid to seeing the screen in bright sunlight. The shade is reasonably easy to fit to the controller and has cutaways in the right places so that the iPhone can be attached. The hood shades the phone from top and sides and does make the screen a little easier to see in bright sun but personally where possible I find it better to stand in the shade of a tree or other structure and only fit the sunshade if there is no alternative. The sunshade folds flat when not in use and fits into the case that came with my Mavic Mini.

A bit of a fiddle to install with my iPhone 11 Pro but with practice I’ll get the hang of it.It does what it says it does but time will tell how robust it is.

The sunshade is made out of a quite weighty material with a plastic coating that is flocked, giving it a matte finish. This helps to prevent reflections on the screen and really does make a nice dark bed for the phone to sit in.The magnets "click" nicely into place, holding the sunshade together well. It feels pretty sturdy once fitted. The whole sunshade is held in place by the lugs that hold the phone so once fitted, which only takes a few seconds the whole lot stays in place perfectly. I shook it quite hard the first time and couldn't get it to fall off.It doesn't get in the way of the cable fitting. My phone has the cable connector on the bottom.As a bonus it fits perfectly into the document pocket in the case supplied with the Mini 2 fly more so it can be carried with the drone at all times.

Sturdy, does the job, folds down nice and compact, however can be a bit fiddly to fit when in the field, and for what the item is it seems very overpriced… However if you want your screen shadimg and money is not a factor then this could be for you.Should add, I use this with a mini 2 and a Huawei P30 Pro and it fits fine

Very handy accessory to have, does exactly what it should.I know some people have said it’s hard to fit but I didn’t have any problems.You just have to use a bit of common sense and it fits just fine.Folds up really nice and flat to tuck away in the DJI drone bag.I can certainly recommend it for those sunny flying days.

Unfortunately my phone, at 9.6 mm, was a little too thick for this and it prevented the two rubber 'grips' at the top of the controller's telescopic phone arm from properly overlapping the edge of the phone. This meant that the phone wasn't gripped properly so would pop out during handling with the possibility of a damaged phone depending on what it may have fallen onto. Even if the USB cable had been connected it could have yanked on the connector or cable.So be sure to check the thickness of your phone before ordering this. At a rough guess, anything over approximately 8mm thick is likely to not be gripped correctly by the controller's telescopic arm.It's a great shame as otherwise I really like the shade - it's built and finished well. Have had to return it for a full refund.
